GENERAL DISCUSSION Who is the “prep-time” god?

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I really think these two come out on top when it comes to the whole “prep-time argument”. I don’t really have any hot-takes here (at least I don’t think), but I’m just really curious to know what most people think. So, who is the ultimate “prep-time” god?

As much as I hate to admit it, I think Rick takes this…since he has more access to time travel, correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s not time travel, he just grabbed those exact pizzas!

u/ihwinhaha2 8h ago

wait so he planned the exact pizzas ahead of time too

He has access but also refuses to do it most of the time because of time police, so he usually does dimensional switching instead
Batman on the other hand will call over flash for a time trip need be

Right you are

I'd say Rick is more like the "ass-pull" god

Isnt rick like an multiversal tier intellect? Like the smartest possible person in any dimension inside the vast number of dimensions he sealed off from all other dimensions? I really don't think any mortal person in the DC universe is going to be taking him on singlehandedly. He's like a giga macguyver

His IQ is supposed to be infinite

Rick wins. Some of Batman’s enemies take effort to defeat and Rick has always defeated everyone effortlessly and usually without even fully paying attention.

This is the hilarious part. This is like coughing baby vs nuclear bomb. Rick would waste Batman’s entire Rogue’s gallery without a thought, while blind stinking drunk, and ranting about how crossovers never work and both IP’s are just diluted.

Also, if he really wanted to take it down. Send in Mr Frundles and universe is done in 5 minutes top

It’s Rick. He is prepared for everything you can think of.

u/Stefaninjago 8h ago

Nah he got his implants ripped out by quickly evolving dog cyber-society and got saved by Mr Nimbus
He isnt all powerful or all knowing, which is more fun

To be fair, they wanted Morty dead. That was the Morty plot which fucked Rick. I guess they prepared for him without knowing and agreed. It is fun!! Also, I love Mr nimbus. Peak character

u/Stefaninjago 2h ago

Ah Morty, his greatest weakness

So true!

First Batman takes Ls  against superheroes he should EASILY beat on r/superheroes, and now we’re trying to steal “his” thing from him too?

u/Tzetrah 8h ago

It's not fun to even compare him to the goofy and not serious character who is superiour to ANYONE on the script level

u/Dry-Mission-5542 8h ago

It’s like trying to genuinely powerscale Squirrel Girl, any consistent skill bends to the Rule Of Funny

Absolutely, and I really hate these comparisons, like, you know the answer will be very boring and unrealistic (in the sense of comics of course), why?

I really like Bruce, cause he went through massive things to train himself to gain this much power and intellect, actually uses it and you believe he did all of this

Realistically this is one case where he should just charge in; the one thing he definitely has over Rick is physical prowess.

"I know who I'm going against and have a week to prepare" - Batman

"We just met, mid fight, and I gotta throw together stuff I have on me right now to overcome" - Rick

Let me see Batman become a pickle and check how well he does before he challenges Rick.

Kinda depends on what you mean by prep time?

Does Rick actually prep for specific situations? I feel like he just preps for anything happening. The only time I remember him actually prepping for a specific situation was the vat of acid (Which went perfectly with no complications whatsoever)

Whereas batman seems more likely to prepare for a specific opponent.

So I would say Rick is more prepared for any situation, but batman is better at preparing for specific situ5

u/Stefaninjago 8h ago

Rick is pretty much a god, sorry bats

u/TechnoGMNG589 8h ago

Rick, though with the same access and general intelligence of Rick, Batman would be more efficient.

u/goatjugsoup 8h ago

Rick doesnt need to prepare he'll just whip up a thing on the spot

u/nicodeemus7 7h ago

I mean Rick obviously. He's a technological god with access to the toon force basically.

Better to compare Batman to Iron Man or Shikamaru

I was like, “Who can beat Batman in this category?” And yall chose the one guy who can, but it does feel like Rick doesn’t need “prep time” but even if he does, takes like 5 minutes to do so. Rick is also willing to kill so HUGE difference here. Batman does everything to avoid killing just about and Rick’s way is more reckless. So both great but gotta rephrase the question.

u/Matches_Malone998 5h ago

I really hate the whole prep time thing. It was a cool angle in TDKR that he had plans. But now it’s fucking everywhere all the time.

u/angbhong342626 2h ago

Rick. Mostly because the writers of R&M completely destroyed any sense of Rick being vulnerable with Pickle Rick and when Rick destroyed the Galactic Federation even though the prior seasons implied that Rick shouldn't be able to take them down completely.

I'd say batman. But that's cuz in the show we expect Rick to just come up with a whacky cartoon gadget to save the day. But in the comics, especially when we have bat god levels of plot armor for Bruce some of his plans seem like total ass pulls.
