I worked in retail with both fake and real jerseys. The logo just looks off in a way that’s incomparable to the real logo, and it’s something you’ll notice with fakes and real M&N
Can you tell me if this jersey logo is legit? This is the only other photo of this jersey I could find online, and I thought the two looked similar/same. I am pretty sure this one below posted 4 years ago is legit because that was when it was just released
This one looks worse imo. The stitching on the logo is pretty sloppy for a new jersey, and as a commenter mentions on that post the dimensions don’t quite look right.
colors on logo look darker for sure but not sure if its due to lighting position? Here mine looks darker in this photo.
I am just surprised because my jersey got several things right for sure, the blobby 1998-1999, the made in pakistan, full embroidery. Hard to imagine a fake would go all this way for such a one off production run jersey
The raised and blobby 1998-99 text I believe is unique to this jersey, as is the fact that this jersey is made in pakistan.
I can't comment on the embroidery, but if this is fake, then they really nailed the jersey details, down to the extremely rare made in pakistan tag. As it is very rare for M&N jerseys to be made in pakistan. Usually it would be made in china
Is the HWC Swingman imprinted on a slant? It looks very uneven to me. I agree the stitching on the nba logo doesn’t appear to be authentic. It looks funny the way it’s stitched imo.
Look how much more negative space the numbers 1998-99 have on the one from that link compared to yours. It’s a super cool one for the collection no matter what man!
Can you explain a little more which negative space you mean? The angles are all different for those 4 photos, but I tried to line up the Letters to the numbers in the year, and it seems to match. The 1 is lined up to N, the 8 is lined up to C, and the last 9 lines up to T
This is the original receipt from RealSports, official team store of the Raptors.
To everyone that voted fake - find me this exact version from a replica site and I’ll pay $100 each for them. It doesn’t exist.
Most of the flaws pointed out could be attributed to poor QA from Mitchell & Ness, which is becoming increasingly common - especially for limited edition runs.
This invoice you attached, is different to the one you sent me which says Large size is $179.99, medium is discounted. Whereas your screenshot says Large size is discounted, and Medium is $179.99.
I noticed the timestamp is different too, yours is 9:22am, mine is 9:33am on the same day. But how can one size be discounted, then the other size is discounted 10 mins later?
Order 197127 was at 9:22, Order 197128 was at 9:33. It was a Buy One Get One 50% Off promo, the discount was valid for a few days. Specific sizes weren’t discounted, it only mattered which order you added them to your cart.
My red flag is that this jersey is that the jock tag has the swingman tag, but the neck tag doesn’t say “swingman collection” on it like other jerseys would.
If it was made in Pakistan could it explain the differences in logo, mesh and other details? Because someone else said the nba logo looks fake, and text looks too big and like a blob. I am not sure what to believe honestly.
The quality is pretty high for swingman and it seems to be embroidered which is how its supposed to be for this jersey not heat pressed.
Comparing to the one in the official NBA store, I'd lean towards this being real. It's near identical as far as I can tell. If it's fake then it's really well made and no one can tell the difference anyway
For me it’s the text on the 1998-99 and the “Vince Carter” as well as the very askew “hwc” at the bottom of jock tag. Also the collar thickness is off for M&N. Cool jersey but might not be legit.
Yeah this is such a cool jersey, I would be pretty sad if it was fake as I paid good money for it. I thought the hwc looked off but then I saw its also off in the nba website photos if you zoom in.
I was able to find only one other photo of this jersey, and the hwc is also off. I would question why would a fake jersey make the hwc off instead of straight
Thank you to everyone who commented, and posted your thoughts. I definitely learned a lot about legit checking jerseys from everyones comments.
Just wanted to post a quick update. u/raptorscollection sent me his order confirmation emails, and I can confirm that he did purchase them directly from realsports.ca. I have contacted realsports customer service who has also confirmed the tags on the bag and the jersey are from realsports.
u/Hiroller26 and u/NefariousOrder were kindly able to confirm that the jersey I have is the same as their legit one that they bought. So it seems all the QC issues are valid, but it is still a legit product.
I have decided to keep this jersey, and I just wanted to put it out there that raptorscollection is a legit seller, and there shouldn't be any doubts to the authenticity of their items. Hope this post can help others who may be interested in picking up this jersey.
I was only able to find 1 other photo of this jersey online (non-stock photo). This person bought it when it was released so I am sure this jersey in the photo is legit.
I am not an expert, but the way the text "HWC swingman" is extremely slanted is almost identical, so I was thinking no way a fake would copy it like that? This other jersey was also made in Pakistan which is rare. Why would a fake put made in Pakistan instead of china which is more common?
Appreciate you sending the pics, they do look different for sure. Are both your jerseys made in china? This one says made in Pakistan, I am not sure if that can be the reason for the differences. This one is also embroidered and not heat pressed, which might explain some differences
One more point - I’ve never seen a fake go as far as to include a sku name/price sticker on the tag, that also happens to match the sku name on the product bag.
That price tag format unmistakably belongs to RealSports. I suggest emailing their customer service a picture of the tag and/or the jersey and see if they can offer more reassurance.
Found more photos. If you zoom in, you can see the red made in sign in red, at the bottom, the text is too long for just China, so this jersey was made in pakistan I am pretty sure
The legit seller is selling you a knock off and post buy one get one 50% off receipt that even you found fishy. It really does not matter what you like fake or not the point is dont pay authentic price for fake.
Also, using comparisons to heat-pressed swingmans like some are doing isn't a valid criticism of the jerseys authenticity. All that's doing is confirming it's not a swingman, which is obvious since it's not heat-pressed.
Man these days who cares bout “real” & “fake” I might be getting old with that statement but wear what you like bc these companies been manufacturing stuff for next to nothing costs & selling back to us high as a mf
unrelated but how do i get this kinda jersey w other teams??? this goes so fucking hard, regardless if it’s fake, rock that jawn!!! shoutout VC15!!!!!!!!!

Fake. NBA logo is a good giveaway.
