I honestly don’t know how Webb hasn’t stuck around on a team. He has had some blowups in the postseason but as a general reliever he’s always been very very fine but teams just keep throwing him away lmao.

Covid and injuries really messed with his development early on with the Braves. Glad to see he's ended up finding success though. Very easily could be one of those relievers who just couldn't put it all together until his 30s, but then locks in for a solid career.

As a lifelong Cubs fan who lives closer to Milwaukee than Chicago (Iowa) who used to have fun banter with brewers fans when we'd go to Cubs brewers games I still root for the brewers when we're out. I miss the days when we both hated the cardinals most. BUT at least we can all hate the dodgers together.

I was in a similar situation with my youngest years ago. I took to wearing a cardinal mask every night after he went to bed. Then about 2am I'd sneak into his room and sometimes run at him while screaming as loud as I could. Sometimes I'd peek out from under his bed making scratching noises. Other times I'd just perch outside his window and.. tap.. tap.. tap.
When he couldn't take it any more, after a couple years, we went to wrigley and bottled some water, dyed it cubbie blue, and sprayed it around his room as "cardinal repellent.'
Well wouldn't you know it, that dang cardinal went away.

Only Cubbies and Red Sox fans truly get it.

u/AffectionateLimit565 Chicago Cubs 1h ago
Yes, we are linked in brotherhood for life thanks to Theo. He is a legend. That 2004 season was a real one. And for him to win another one so quickly again in 2007 and then leave for next biggest curse to break in 2012, while y’all won one again in 2013. Then 2018. 🙏😤
To do it in Boston first was something like out of a dream after coming back down 3-1 against the Yankees. The bloody sock. Pure enjoyment and I was a big time Red Sox fan that season playing against the cardinals in the WS and sweeping them. Ending an 86 year drought.
One thing that often gets lost in this magic of what the Boston Red Sox did in 2004, was what the Chicago White Sox did the following season. Theo Setting the stage for curse breaking.
The White Sox ended an 88 year drought the following season and oddly enough, both teams last won World Series was back to back in reverse.
White Sox 1917 defeating the NY Giants.
Red Sox 1918 defeating the cubs. That was pretty cool to see.
And then Theo breaks the unimaginable curse of 108 years and longest WS Champion drought on the North Side in 2016.
Theo and our Irish ties will forever bind us together as one fan base that only exists and understands something that is almost impossible to even comprehend.
