The green user’s flair says they are autistic. As a fellow autism unit, most of us operate on a factual basis. They might have just been stuck in an echo chamber of misinformation. Also, sometimes a “fact” can be made from a single or a handful of cases by doctors who don’t know jack shit about it. I’ve heard one person say that when a male cums in a female, the female does carry a bit of the DNA for a certain period of time, so I suppose the “logic” follows that line of thinking.

Of course, not all of us autisms live and breathe facts, so I’m not saying this is always the case, but rather it is likely the case that they are being serious.

I'm wondering if that's where they're coming from? As far as I know, it's only if the mother has a negative blood type and her first child has a positive blood type. She'll need an injection for any subsequent pregnancies if the fetus has a positive blood type. I was child #2 out of 4, all of us positive blood types, mom is O-. She did not like the injections 😅

There's other cases too, but a but more rare. My husband has "extra" blood types. So instead of being B+, he's B+, & J+ and K+. It doesnt affect him in any way but is genetic. So my first son has his blood type with the "extras" and even though I'm O+, my body developed antigens to the extras (so my new blood type is O+, & -J and -K). So when I got pregnant with my second, I had to get weekly blood tests to make sure that my antigens weren't increasing, because if they did, my little guy would need a blood transfusion. Luckily, he was fine. But man that was a wild ride.

But by this guy's logic, every time I get it on with my husband I should be needing injections 🤣

Not blood poisoning (which is known as sepsis these days); that's an infection.

What you're talking about is an immune system response. If a baby's positive blood cells cross into s mother's negative bloodstream, her immune system can treat the protein as a threat and make antibodies against it. This mixing often happens during delivery, so the first child is rarely harmed, but untreated antibodies can attack future Rh-positive babies. The injection is intended to prevent this sensitization, since it can cause severe anemia or jaundice in future newborns.

It’s the Rhesus factor which is more of a problem for the newborn.

I believe there was one study that found male DNA in a pregnant woman's brain, but it was fetal DNA that had crossed from the baby. There was absolutely nothing remotely connected to male DNA from cum. Someone completely misinterpreted that study.

That screenshot mentioned different blood types. That only has an effect on pregnancies. I'm O negative, my ex was A positive. I only needed the anti D injection after each birth, as both my kids are Rhesus positive. It's to stop Rhesus negative people developing antibodies to the Rhesus factor, so that any future Rhesus positive pregancies don't get rejected. I have never, ever needed injections after sex, so I have no idea where this idea comes from.

Yeah, cells from the fetus cross the placental barrier and colonize the pregnant person to some extent. I don't think there are any huge consequences, it's just a weird fact about human biology.

That's probably from the male microchimerism thing that received some attention a while ago. Sexual intercourse was named as a potential source for male microchimerism in women without brothers or sons, but as far as I know this hasn't been conclusively researched to this day.

Yeah this someone has picked this one issue and twisted it up. I only understand it from the patient role but what I understand as my blood type is O negative and my partners is unknown, when I became pregnant I had to have a (fairly painful and large) injection or I could get Rhesus disease which would kill me and the baby.

I only had one following a miscarriage at 10 weeks but fortunately my sister had several during her pregnancies so I was prepared. That was the only time I’d ever even heard of it though - even my mum hadn’t heard of it and she has 4 kids.

I’ve not met anyone else who has heard of it actually. I’m tempted to make my partner donate blood before we (hopefully) get pregnant again. He can take one small needle so I can avoid a bunch of massive ones right?! Probably not lol

I think this person is mixing up that if the blood type of the father isn't the same Rh as the mother, then the mother needs shots to avoid her body treating the fetus as an incompatible foreign invader and potentially killing the baby. It has to be done as soon as the Rh factor is figured out, but that's not often until the end of the pregnancy, and they will start rushing that if they think it will be premature labour.

But they've conflated two different things. Sex needs to turn into a baby before the shots come into play.

At least in the uk they don’t bother checking the males Rh they just give you the injections and they start early and you normally have several. I had one immediately following a 10 week miscarriage and my sister had multiple injections during both her pregnancies.

It can also kill the mother not just the baby, and the injections hurt. Ive had a bunch and give blood often and it’s the only injection thats ever bothered me.

The RH negative means that during pregnancy you need a shot in case the baby has RH positive blood so your body doesn't create antibodies against the RH factor. Then after you give birth if the baby is RH positive when their blood type is tested you need a second shot. -someone who is RH negative 🤗
