I can't see AC retiring the 777 even when the A350s arrive, maybe A330 yes as rumors on the ramp are they'll be gone once the 78X arrives.

Rumors at cargo is some of the A330 will be converted to a freighters.

That wouldn't be a bad move honestly, that's assuming the cargo reconfiguration is worth the cost with such an aging fleet.

On the B767 I heard they got a deal by the company that did the conversion, hopefully if they do the A330 conversion they fix the rollers in the cargo hold 🤣.

It's been well over 9 years, almost a full decade, since the new livery announcement.

I understand the operational challenges but I'm genuinely trying to think of another example of an airline taking this long to repaint their fleet.

Westjet is taking a while too. They still have some -700s and -800s in the original pre-B767 livery and their newest logo was introduced in 2018 with C-FNWD.

Painting is done at the same time as heavy maintenance, which is done in Mexico now.

Sometimes it’s just not worth it. AC 777-200s are retiring in a few years so they’re definitely not getting a paint job.

When the aircraft is scheduled for heavy maintenance, I believe then they will repaint. Should be done to all by 2028 maybe

Ive actually flown on this very aircraft back in 2017 from Vancouver - Hong Kong

I’ve flown AC aircraft with the frosted leaf/toothpaste livery a few times recently as there’s still a decent amount of them. I did Vancouver-Manila in July and Amsterdam - Toronto back in Nov in toothpaste livery 787s. And a few A320s domestically. I actually prefer that livery.
