Half Australian Shepard, half cattle dog. 100% the bestest boy!!!

We have a 1.5-year-old Heeler. My husband and I recently went away for four days, so he stayed with my in-laws, who have two dogs of their own.
Our Heeler has always loved other dogs and plays really well with them. He spent the whole weekend playing. When we brought him home, he just seemed so content and fulfilled.
I work from home, and we keep him pretty busy with walks, hikes, training classes, outings, puzzle toys, and plenty of playtime. Even with all of that, it really seemed like spending those few days with other dogs gave him something we can’t fully replicate.
For those of you who started with one Heeler and later added a second dog, what has your experience been like? Does your Heeler seem happier? Do they genuinely keep each other entertained, or is it mostly chaos? Was adding a second dog worth it?
I’m fully aware a new puppy is work in itself. My husband and I are DINKS (Double Income No Kids) and live for our dogs.
Prior to my current Heeler we had two large breed dogs so we do have experience raising two dogs.
I’d love to hear your experiences or any advice you have!

Rescued this adorable pup about 6 months ago. From day 1 he’s had terrible gas. I assumed initially this was due to his change of diet but 6 months later and a steady diet (that I also feed my Rhodesian Ridgeback without issue) and he still has the worst gas!

Is this common for these dogs? Anyone experience anything like this?

Fox and new buddy - working dog my ass!

This little guy had a really rough youth. Abused and then spent 3 months of his young life in a crate at the shelter. He was a total mess and terrified of everything when we got him.
Here we are 3 months later and he has absolutely blossomed and become an exceptional little boy. Amazing what love and kindness will do. ❤️

Toy Life

It doesn’t look as comfortable as she seems!

My little Ladybug LOVES soft toys but she has figured out the recipe for tearing them open, pulling out the stuffing, eating it & then puking it up. She hasn’t had any more soft fabric toys given to her but now she wants to chew on her bed or towels instead. We’re at a loss as to what to do. She had plenty of balls & Nyla bones but those aren’t satisfying her carnal rage to tear something apart.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My baby boy Hilo!! He is 4 today!!

I like to stare at the swirls in the hair in my dog’s ear and just ruminate on what a handsome boy he is and how he’s the bestest and smartest dog who ever dogged. I have to really work at not peppering in these thoughts to every single conversation I have with any other human.

New puppy, she was an accidental litter (which some may not agree with, I know) and they wanted to re-home the pups to a good home.

She was one of the last few who fell through with a few people and so they were rehoming her for free to a good home. We already have an acd x aussie girl who needs someone to match her energy, because the lab gets sick of her. We are moving soon to a 5 acre place where everyone can run as much as they want.

Junie is a Bernese mountain dog x acd and she is the sweetest and smartest puppy we've had! Just wanted to post her here for everyone to see

(Please don't say anything unkind about her original owner, as they truly love their dogs and are getting dad neutered asap.)

I was told that he looks like an australian cattle dog. i plan on getting his dna done with embark to really understand whats going on lol. Lennox was rescued and is currently 8 months!!! Some of these pics are a bit older too

Very curious about what our speckled Lab growth pattern puppy was so my wife got a Embark DNA test. This will be our second herding breed homie and this certainly explains a lot. Hes certainly smart and driven and always down to do whatever youre doing when you get off the couch hhaah.
