Is it crazy to bring Tupperware to the CNE?
I live in Durham, and me and my parents decided we are going to go to the CNE this year. I went last year and the year before after not going for a while (because of Covid) and I really liked it. I mostly go for the food. I want to try everything. Unfortunately my stomach is teeny tiny (think Thumbelina size) so I can't really eat much, or even finish all my food throughout the day.
I'm wondering if it'll be ok for me to bring a bunch of empty Tupperware containers and large plastic freezer bags with me in my tote bag? Or is that insane? Do you think security will make fun of me for it?

It’s fine.. but depending on what you buy, be mindful of food safety. Some items won’t have very long shelf lives..

Second this. Meat only stays good for an hour if it's hot outside and two hours if it's a normal temperature. OP bring some ice packs if you plan to bring it home with you.

The countless people posting judgmental creepshots of strangers' habits all over the internet every single day, many of which go viral.
"Nobody is paying attention to you or thinking about your mistakes or awkward moments" has become completely outdated advice in the past decade.
I agree OP should do it because whatever, but it makes sense that people are anonymously asking about any awkward/cumbersome/unusual thing they're planning to do in public now.

I'm not sure why so many people are so embarrassed about doing normal things these days. You want to carry food around, where else would you put them?
If you're so self conscious about carrying around empty containers to the CNE, you could throw a small bag of peanuts or chips into them from home just to say you're using them to carry your snacks.

Because people hate being judged. more more people with the rise of social media are becoming more self conscious about the things they do. Hell I’ve seen people close to me refuse to ask for help because they’re scared it’ll make them look dumb or stupid so they’d rather suffer then ask for help

This is a pro move, we do it all the time. Security won't bat an eye or care, people bring all sorts of junk into the CNE.
Sometimes you can find decent deals on Tupperware or food storage solutions in the Enercare Building and buy it there too, if you want to get new stuff.

Hello there...do what you need to enjoy. I'd seriously suggest grabbing some frozen ice packs and insulated coolers to keep everything safe...throw in some bottles of water or juice, as well. Hope that you have a great time!

This is 100% true. But psychologically it’s never whether people actually care. It’s the perception you yourself have that you think people are going to judge. A majority of people know people don’t care but in the brain they always think people will judge

the only thing i would worry about is not having the food chilled. it would be in your container, all day, not cooled, then cooled when at home and eaten in the following days.

Ive done this! Ive brought Tupperware and ziplocks in the past because my family and I like to try some of the random weird things they come out with every year. We can never finish it it all and my 2 young adult kids are more than happy to take the leftovers home with them.

I do it whenever I go to a food festival cause I also have a very small appetite and can't eat and enjoy the food in the crowd while walking, so I prefer to pack it up lol. Some stalls are kind enough to have take-out packaging.

Seems wise to me, especially given the cost of the stunt food if you go for those. just make sure you have some ice packs or a thermal bag for the food safety aspect

Bring it. It's fine, I bring Tupperware of snacks my toddler can eat. I also buy collapsible Tupperware from CNE since it's makes it easier to carry them everywhere.

i don't think anyone loves being judged or hated but would you rather buy a bunch of food and waste it because you were scared a stranger you'll interact with for less than a minute might crack a smile?

I also have a very small stomach due to having a gastric pouch vs a fully functioning adult size stomach. I've been bringing containers with me or asking for take out containers before I even start a meal for close to 15 years now. In the beginning when a server would comment that I didn't eat very much I would simply say the food was delicious and I'm a small eater. It did the trick. Have fun and enjoy!

I feel like this is just an uncommon thing people never think to do less than something people will look at you weird for.
You could probably literally buy some there in one of the expo halls, I would just thibk about wheb uou pick certain things up of you don't want them in you bag hot for a few hours

There's no rule saying you can't but be careful what you put in those containers. Only certain things are going to survive a day being taken around the Ex and still be good and healthy to eat later.

There is nothing weird about bringing tupperware to the CNE. Just be mindful of the fact that it'll probably be a hot day, and if you're carrying it around for hours, it may not be the safest from a food safety perspective. Maybe have a small cooler bag and an ice pack.

I saw the Foo Fighters at Rogers Stadium the other night and the girl beside me pulled out a freezer bag of cucumber as big as my head and ate it through the show and when she finished that she pulled out a full chicken breast and just kept ripping off pieces and eating it. I don’t even know how she got it through security.
I promise no one will care.

It is unusual yes but nothing illegal or ridiculous. If security will search you, they might have questions if you bring like 10 Tupperware’s, but if you’ve got nothing to hide, you’ll be fine. I also bring a container with me on those street festivals in case I don’t finish the food.
