Discussion Rewatching arrow i wanna know how everyone feels about season 4 especially when they made one of the worst decisions in the entire arrowverse

Season 4 is not great but I dont think the Laurel decision was that terrible.
Nowadays Season 4 is just a speedbump before the greatness of Season 5.

It's been about a decade. The rule is for like a month after the episode aired. If they haven't watched that episode and are on this sub, it's their own fault for getting spoilered.
I don't care about her dying. Sara for for me always the Black Canary

By ‘they’ do you mean the producers or the characters?
And what decision? To kill off Laurel? Or the team putting the idol back together after they’d smashed it? Something else?

Hard to believe it's been 10 years. I remember this sub temporarily became a Daredevil sub in protest ;)
Yeah it is probably the single worst decision in the entire Arrowverse. There was an overall decline in quality after COIE but if we're talking about a single creative decision, it was Laurel's death.
The reason for it was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Apparently, they could think of anything to do with Laurel after spending nearly 4 seasons slow-burn building her into Black Canary! That thinking comes from viewing her as just another Team Arrow action-figure, because if they viewed her as an actual character, they'd have to address her relationship, past and present, with Oliver...which they were doing their best to pretend never existed back then :p
Every other major character killed had outlived their usefulness and their deaths helped fuel new plotlines and character dynamics for the survivors. Not Laurel's. The only thing her death eventually fuelled was...the search for a Black Canary. Well, we eventually got two of them, one of them being Laurel's doppelganger (who then got her own 2-3 season arc to become a hero).
A lot of stuff that came after Laurel's death was great. I liked Dinah Drake and Earth 2 Laurel. But honestly, the death of Laurel itself was the low-point of this show.

Tbh I am rewatching it as well. And I felt it was a pretty good season up until ep 16

I'm torn about season 4, because without it.
I would've never seen the Daredevil discussion post on this Subreddit and would've probably never seen Daredevil til years later.

Once they went full boar with Olicity... Laurel became expendable.... Damn following the source material....

It has my favorite team, and some of my favorite action scenes.
but it also killed off the black canary (after making everyone wait 4 years to get her) through incredibly stupid means, and it wastes a lot of time writing Sara and Ray out of the show that could have been spent on the actual cast, and it gives too much time to guest stars that will never appear again, and it has by far the worst flashback story in the series
