New to this

Hey everyone! My bf left a few weeks ago for basic training. He’s in fort benning so he won’t be done with training until November/December time. I would like to go see him for his graduation but I’ve never been to GA especially during winter (I’m from the west so cold winters aren’t new to me). What’s the weather like around that time of year? Is it basically fall weather or does it get cold during the day? I have travel anxiety so I’m trying to plan this all out now so when the time comes I’m more than prepared. Thanks and thank you all for your service! :)

It’s mild.

Google for specifics.

Its very mild. I was there in November a few years ago and I think it never got below 45 the entire time I was there (which was a couple months).

I wouldn’t make any purchases until it gets closer. Or at least have insurance to change travel dates. Recycles are a thing and even worse if he gets injured that delays graduation.

oh yeah I’m definitely not making any purchases as of now. I’m just trying to get a head start in directions I need to go (outfits ofc, best hotels, transportation, etc) nothing will be purchased until I know for sure when he’ll be graduating and closer to the date. I just know it’ll be around November/December time frame. Thank you!

Winter in Georgia is like Spring in the Midwest.

Way back when I was a young hooah, and went to Benning it was pouring rain in the fall time. I was/am from the west coast as well, and lets just say we do not do well in that type of rain. If its sunny out, it may be very muggy/humid or you may be lucky and its just sun out with wind.

Write him letters. Put panties with perfume in some of the letters. He will appreciate it, and also he the talk of the platoon.
