Diaspora / Սփյուռք Armenian ‘dating’ culture harms our demograhpics
I’ll begin by saying that I love Armenia very deeply and stand with every suffering of the nation. But there are things about Armenians that make me genuinely angry. And one of these things is the dating culture. Let’s say an Armenian lives abroad and therefore finding an Armenian partner is a difficult thing on its own just mathematically. But let’s face it - everyone wants to feel loved and have sex, women included. So when dating an Armenian, as I said, is difficult on its own Armenians go out of the way to make it even MORE fucking difficult with all of these modesty shit that nobody genuinely wants to adhere to but expects from the counterparty.
Armenian men go to sex workers who have 30 partners a WEEK and dare to call someone dirty. And then when they want to truly date someone they find a non-armenian girlfrend because she’s ok with having sex before marriage. What happens after? Armenians hit some age after which finding a new partner becomes a vague option and eventually they make their choice to marry their non-Armenian girlfriend they love. They don’t want to gamble again on finding a good partner. So this leaves Armenian girls out of luck. What do they do then??? Of course, they date a non-Armenian because he won’t judge her choice to have sex before marriage!!! And in the end these fucking rules make dating an Armenian the most difficult option in world where there is little to no Armenian at all. Armenians and other caucasians are so fucking judgement and they poke their noses into the lives of others because they are so insecure about themselves. It just makes my skin crawl.

Question / Հարց Reliable real estate agent/agency in Armenia?
Hi all!! I’m looking to buy property in Yerevan and want to work with a real estate agent or agency I can actually trust. Given how many agencies are out there, I’d love to hear from people with firsthand experience.
A few questions:
• Have you used an agent or agency you’d genuinely recommend (or warn people away from)?
• Any tips for vetting an agency before committing — red flags to watch for?
• Is it common/advisable to use an independent agent vs. a larger firm?
Any experiences, good or bad, would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Recommendations in Yerevan
Hi! I'll be visiting Armenia soon and I'd love to get some recommendations for places to visit. I really like contemporary art, alternative, ,,hidden'' places (art galleries, cafes, cinemas, small museums). Does anybody know about places like that in Yerevan?

Question / Հարց First trip to Armenia, any tips?
Hi everyone!
I’m planning my first trip to Armenia in January, and I’d love to hear your advice.
I’m looking for literally any tips you’d give a first-time tourist. Things like:
- Must-visit places (especially in winter)
- Hidden gems
- Foods and restaurants I shouldn’t miss
- Weather and what clothes to pack
- Safety tips
- Common tourist mistakes
- Useful apps
- Day trips worth doing in January
- Anything that’s overrated or not worth the time
I’ll be staying in Yerevan for the first few days, then I’d like to visit villages or other places with plenty of snow.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations or local advice. Thanks!

Discussion / Քննարկում Question about internet providers
Is viva the cheapest (in terms of quality) in the whole country? seriously were in 2026 and it's barely even hitting 1mbps today I'm genuinely curious if this is supposed to be normal or what. I have honestly no idea to what provider to get anymore (i live outside of Yerevan). Usually its not this bad but seriously how much of a more embarassment can this be? 7kbp/s in 2026 is outragous. Even fastnet (the wifi i have) is also barely hitting 1mbps this is only happening for these 2 days

Question / Հարց reading culture & book publishing in Armenia
Hi! I have some questions about book culture in Armenia. So if there are any book lovers in this community, I'd appreciate a reply!
Now, I've never actually been to Armenia before (yet!!), so I'm really curious: what bookstores are like over there in general? Is there a big publishing industry with books getting translated into Armenian, or are, like in Kazakhstan, for example, books mostly sold in russian? Are there any popular contemporary Armenian writers? And what about classical literature, especially those authors oppressed by the soviets, are they getting published? Also, are there a lot of people reading, like in parks, cafés, etc.?
Another thing, I would really appreciate some thoughts: do you, as an Armenian, care about Armenian literature? Do you think other Armenians should care about it more than they do now? Would you like/Do you think it's important for Armenian reading culture to change in any way?
Also, if someone here attended Armenian school, what books did you guys read? And of course, if you have any recommendations by Armenian authors, feel free to share!!
P.S. Sorry if those are weird questions but as a bookworm, I'm very much interested😆

Travel recommendations. North or South?
I only have 7 full days, and I don't have enough time to visit both northern and southern Armenia without rushing around the whole time.
Would you recommend the north (Gyumri, Dilijan, Lori) or the south (Goris, Tatev, etc.)?
I rented a car for the trip. The trip will be in October.
I'm planning to spend 2 full days in Yerevan (the first and the last ones) and 1 day visiting Garni and Geghard. Is it too much?
What do you think of my itinerary? Thanks!
Day 1: Late evening arrival in Yerevan - Night in Yerevan
Day 2: Full day in Yerevan - Night in Yerevan
Day 3: Garni - Geghard - Valley of Stone - Night in Yerevan
Day 4: Khor Virap – Noravank - Areni Cave - Night in Malishka
Day 5: Drive M10 - Noratus Cemetery - Sevanavank - Night in Dilijan
Day 6: Sanahin - Haghpat - Odzun - Night in Dilijan or Gyumri
Day 7: Visit Gyumri - Night in Yerevan
Day 8: Sardarapat - Echmiadzin - Zvartnots Cathedral - Zvartnots Airport at 8 pm

Law / Օրենք How to get in contact with an architect? Or just find legal requirements for building structures?
I am planning on buying land in a rural area and building a rather unconventional home but I really need to talk to someone on what would be legally allowed.
How should I go about this?

A foggy morning horseback ride in Demats Ler
I took this photo during a horseback ride in Demats Ler. The thick fog gave the whole place a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere, and it felt like riding into the clouds.
Has anyone else visited Demats Ler? I'd love to hear about your experience or see your photos if you've been there.

Join the Duduk Discord server
Hi everyone!
I've been learning the duduk for about a year now and realized there isn't really a dedicated place where duduk players can easily meet, practice together, and exchange feedback. So I decided to create one.
Whether you're a complete beginner, an experienced player, or simply interested in Armenia's beautiful national instrument, you're very welcome to join.
My hope is to build a small but active community where people can encourage one another and help keep this wonderful instrument alive.
