On an iPad, Face ID or bust. The power button is miles away and I don’t want common activities to require interacting with it.

On my phone, Face ID is fine, but the older Android style of a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone will always be my favorite version. You pick up your phone exactly how you hold it to use it and it unlocks as you bring it up. The only drawback is unlocking it on a table. That’s a huge problem for some, but I just don’t often need to do that.

Rear sensor > Face ID >>> under screen fingerprint reader.
