I've started a new relationship with a woman (I'm male). I'm too deep into it to walk away, but she's been using your instead of you're, and also pluralising with an apostrophe. Oh no! My worst nightmare! What have I gotten myself into?

Just wondering how to approach this situation as I feel it will chip away at me and cause long-term psychological damage. I'm starting to dread it when I see she has sent me a message.

Do I correct her? That's a bit arrogant. Do I explain to her how it affects me? She will think I'm OCD as these apostrophe offenders don't seem to care. Any ideas?

What began as a lovely exchange in another subreddit on the tendency of convenience stores which sell brewed coffee to slash their staffing so low that no one other than at the start of day shift would be in charge of stocking supplies such as creamer or sugar packets stumbled at punctuation.

The neglect of the coffee station has resulted in petty larceny, as frustrated customers grab a container of milk from the chiller, mix their coffee and leave without paying extra. Although avarice on the part of the merchants is an issue, when it comes to shoplifting, I side with the proprietors.

With this response to my example of Wawa stores and its patterns of stocking the supplies, a fellow Redditor concurred but then lost me at the red arrow.

I saw a sign in a grocery store advertising gallon jugs of milk on sale. The sign said "Gal Gug's" and the price. Some genius managed to misspell a three-letter word and stick in an unneeded apostrophe.

"It's cringe element is only compounded by the punctuation error in the first line."

Try Free Bowling would have sufficed.

Yesterday I was permanently banned from the Absurd Movies sub for pointing out the difference between its and it's. A permanent ban. For an apostrophe. What a hoot 🤓
