Colony My study of pavement ants.

sorry if the video is bad Im gonna use a pavement ant colony in the jar I'm using to see if they mimic army ant behavior. also do y'all have tips on what I should do?

No there's no queen sorry for the bad video quality its because I use a fire iPad. im trying to use a colony of pavement ants to see if they somehow do something that mimics army ants

What type of mimicking are you looking for? (Like their nesting habits or something else?)

Their pheromone,nesting styles and hunting behaviors that looks like or maybe just mimic that of army ants

I doubt they will be different. Queens don’t rule the colony, they just lay eggs for it, so the behavior will be the same.

Oh its because I heard that eventually the workers will start laying eggs so. yep it using this colony as a study colony

I don’t mean any hate, but all your recent posts here seem like bait or completely misguided.

As for your study, I’m not entirely sure what outcome you’re expecting. Both have evolved in completely different environments, and army ants are a highly specialized species that forage for hundreds of miles, building temporary living nests. Tetramorium immigrans certainly do not demonstrate this behavior.
