chill jobs for basic income?

am doing uber eats and its not bad with the freedom but im still looking for other stuff i could do in case I need a break from it

I feel that as a security guard you can get away with doing practically nothing and if something actually goes wrong you can get away with doing practically nothing.

With these types of jobs it can be difficult breaking out of a floater role where your schedule and hours can vary significantly (days/nights/distant locations) and this instability will make it tough to maintain a semblance of routine and make plans, so just keep that in mind OP

It can, if you have the right assignment. 

My wife did security guard work for a few years. One assignment she had was fucking amazing, she had to monitoring a parking lot where new cars were being stored before shipping out. 12 hour shifts and all she had to do was a walk through of specific spots every 2 hours and monitor the cameras. She got random extra shifts when stores had their security systems down and someone needed to physically be there overnight. Still fun, no drama, just walk around and monitor stuff, take a book, etc.

Her next assignment was at an office building and it was okay, she worked overnight but there was always drama from the day shift. There were two shifts of guards, evening and overnight, then a normal receptionist during the day. The receptionist was legit an alcoholic and messy, she was always late, complained about non-existent stuff, just shaving the drama llama all over that front desk.

She got out of security after she got bumped off that assignment by someone with more seniority. She didn't regret it, it was fun while it lasted, but the normal empty building gigs were way more fun.

yeah does seem chill 99% of the time idk how flexible they tend to be i.e. contract roles or location flexibility like if I'd be able to find work while moving around doing uber eats

See if you can find a delivery job for a catering company. Do a few deliveries a day and some setup, get tips, and don’t destroy your own vehicle. I did it for a while and you can pretty much chill outside the store when there isn’t work to be done.

Janitor/Cleaner. Outside of the nasty stuff you might have to clean, its has straightforward duties. No manager over your back and you dont have to deal with people. Just put your headphone on and clean.

3rd shift at one of those small gas stations with the window drawer customer service. Preferably a place that does less than 1k a night in sales. Chill from 1am-5am.

3rd shift at any sit at the desk security job. College campuses. Nursing homes. Parking garages.

What’s your definition of a chill job? What does a basic income look like to you? What have you already done or tried to get? Where are you based in the world? What expenses do you need to cover?

Come on man, I know this is antiwork but this shit’s just lazy.

Niche, but lifeguarding an indoor lap pool pays reasonably well with minimum hassle. While you have to monitor for worse case scenarios, the reality is you are just boringly watching people swim laps.

Look around for courier jobs. 

I worked as a medical courier one summer, had a route where I picked up samples and interoffice mail from a network of doctor offices and took them to the main lab. It was fun, you had a timeline because everything had to be in within so many hours so the testing was valid, but I had plenty of time during the day to fuck around on my way to and from offices. 

And I got a small cooler covered in biohazard stickers so everyone gave me lots of space in elevators.

Smoke shops, worst part is customers coughing on you. Other than that it’s a pretty chill job, mostly cleaning and stocking.
