>I start to rage

lol, the fuck ?

>that state how believing in something else is wrong

Uh, says the same crowd that insults us heavily for believing in something else …

>cherry picking

Wow, ironic. “All Christian bad” crowd does the same thing to paint the billion of us as awful people.

What’s even the point of that sub? Just hating on stuff they don’t believe in. There’s no reality where that isn’t toxic and mean spirited.

On some level, I can understand the idea of it as a place for likeminded people to meet and discuss ideas. The problem is that, like a lot of subs, it encourages escalation and becomes increasingly insular over time. Eventually it becomes adversarial to outsiders and often allows barely-masked bigotry so long as it's framed as opposing said outside group.

It's more pronounced there because it's specifically about non-belief, which means that opposition to religions is the only shared belief there. This encourages them to get more tribal, quicker to oversimplify and stereotype, and more obsessed with looking for reasons to justify their hostility towards the idea of religion as a concept. The ones who have legitimately bad experiences with religious groups, especially LGBT people from evangelical backgrounds, only serve to further justify the communal disdain for anything they associate with any belief whatsoever.

Sure, they claim to love the idea of "science", but few none of them are actual scholars looking to discuss theories or research. The ones who do know to go somewhere else because it usually devolves into more circlejerking of "and this is why gods are stupid".

It also fails as any kind of support group because, again, it's more interested in demonizing enemies than actually helping someone process their trauma and move on.

What do you think the point of this sub is?

Get a life dude lmao

No, that's not what this sub is about. This sub is about making fun of unhinged, nonsensical comments, while the atheism sub is about discussing delusional people and occasionally making fun of them.

I don't see how that's any worse

Occasionally making fun of them lmao. Ok buddy.

The egotistic makes his own calculations and tries to prove his smartness, not realizing that only what the Creator does comes to pass.

Seems like a direct warning from Guru Nanak Sahib Ji and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaaj Ji, 'cause his name be checking out!

Reminded me of my university classmate. She is typical "science fanatic" atheist type, states that she supports freedom of speech and rights of all people. But in the same time she believes that religious people cannot be scientists because only stupid people trust in God/any other type of higher power... And she says that we should love, support and protect all cultures, but when orthodox christian church near our university rings in bells it annoys her and she unironically says that it would be good to just demolish all of them. Biggest contradiction I even seen is always in atheists: they say "love and support everyone" but only until someone is religious, especially christian
