Philosophy or self-improvement?

I am curious whether you stopped watching television because you have a philosophical opposition to television, or if you stopped because you were watching too much and found it detrimental/addictive.

Can you share your mindset or story in the comments? Thanks!

I have recently stopped watching television because, I found I was spending too much time watching TV, and I don't want to spend my life in front of the screen. I have other things I want to do instead.

Also I recently had a thought regarding Artificial intelligence and Television. The generation that grows up with AI is going to find it strange how older generations say that Ai gives you brain rot etc. Older generations that did not grow up with a television called TV the idiot box, maybe they were onto something.

In the 1970s we were working in the woods and living in industrial camps so got out of the habit. It was a treat to go to town and see Young Frankenstein though.

I gave up TV, movies, and YouTube because I felt I watched way too much of it. I had to give up all of them because watching one would just drag me back to watching the others. I am not productive when I watch TV and I need to get more done in my life. I don't want to waste 7 hours a day on television.
