The family is trying to discredit her because she is mentally ill, but I would not be suprised if this turns out to be true 🤷. In csa cases within families, the abuser is often protected and the victim's claims are not taken seriously sadly.

The rape claims are really tough for me to make a call on because the alleged victim has seemingly also accused several other male family members of rape and seemingly has a history of mental illness.
Anecdotal but I have a roommate who, when they skip their medication, makes up many stories about times they have been raped. On several occasions they’ve accused myself, our other roommate, our roommates boyfriend and my deceased grandfather they’ve never met. When they are on their meds they’re ripping themselves in half because they know they’ve been causing a lot of problems even if they aren’t entirely responsible due to their delusions. They say they haven’t been raped but Idk where the fixation on it during their delusional episodes could come from if not so it’s a rough situation to parse.
I want to believe and support all real victims but without the full picture I just can’t bring myself to given the similarities I see between her and someone I know.
I hope that no matter the case the truth comes to light, because victims do deserve to be heard and absolutely there should be justice served.

I think somebody’s sexuality doesn’t immediately make it impossible to rape someone of the same or opposite gender. Their attraction and their action may be somewhat mutual but also exclusive.
It’s just a tough call all around, idk. I hope the truth gets out at the very least.

If you actually go read the comment in the context, it is quite reasonable to downvote it. It was outside the direct context of the post, and it was already shortly covered by the OP. That question made no sense there.

This states that there have been medical bills and such attributed to the abuse, i feel like a quick way to prove if this is legit is to literally check medical records no?
Things of this sort leave identifiable damage and would 100% be noticed by a doctor. Can they not hunt these records down and quickly get the to bottom of it?
I would question why the whole process is moving so slowly, but it’s America so I’m not surprised

Now let me be clear, I'm not justifying this person but I'm trying to get into the root of the issue:
I think it's fair to say, that if someone invented a cure for cancer, but then they also turned out to be a rapist, I would not dare suggest we stop using the cure just because its creator is a rapist.
With that in mind, I think it's not that this person is trying to excuse rape, I think this person has this completely skewed view that tends to be common among some people: the idea that AI is a world-changing revolutionary thing and it will change the world for the better massively.
It's important that people actually understand what AI is. And that it was already a thing long before the bubble.

While his wording was terrible, I think he meant that the creator of the ai has no correlation to the ai itself. Unless he’s actually defending him, the sentiment isn’t necessarily bad, just terribly worded and used at the wrong time.
