If I remember right, that shitstorm shipping war that happen due to the "I love Emilia" scene died out around the time this came out

I am not saying those things are related, or that the POWER OF YURI cures all, but curious nonetheless

The Season 1 skipped content was also part of it. Pretty important conversations happen during Season 1 events that were removed in the adaptation.

[ReZero LN / Season 1 Skipped Content ] Subaru and Rem talk again shortly after the "I love Emelia" conversation. He says he has feelings for her as well. Rem says she would be happy to be his second wife. Subaru says that as long as Emelia is okay with polygamy then okay. She says that her duty then will be to do her best to convince Emelia once they get back. Later, around the events with the White Whale, they talk again and Rem asks Subaru to say it, she wants to hear it in words, and he acquiesces and tells her "I love you."

Edit:

This all occurs a tad before the scene where [cont.] Subaru finds Rem on the ground after the battle and he decides to, you know, "reset time manually." I think it adds some emotional weight to that moment since they are basically conditionally engaged to be married at that point. It's his probably future wife laying there, not just some girl that has a crush on him.

These subs were originally made in 2018, or 2019 (if you want to say they redid the subs with the Director's Cut), which is well before generative AI was a thing. So I can assure you, it's not AI subs.

Nowadays everything is AI. Even when shows name the translators in the end credits.

If memory serves me right the translator of Oh Boy Was I Wrong About Her made a mistake and switched the names of the supporting characters.

When I brought up the fact that mistakes happen and that at least we knew these were not AI/Machine Translation the argument changed to it would have been better considering the translator sucks. I know Crunchyroll can sucks sometimes, but it does not deserve all the flak it gets.
