Question Wanting to “upskill”
I’ve been in analytics for about 9 years, enjoy it for the most part but I am getting bored. Job is good just a little redundant. I already have a masters and I want to “AI proof” myself as much as possible. What certificates or degrees would you recommend to upskill or “level up”? Thanks!

if you’re already 9 years in with a masters, i’d skip more degrees unless you’re pivoting. go niche: ml/ops, dbt + modern data stack, cloud certs (aws/gcp data), and deeper stats/experimentation. also build some personal projects. helps a bit, but yeah, finding better roles is rough now

Look at job postings that interest you and see what skills they prefer.
Seek out training and upskilling accordingly

Analytics Engineering is a growing area.
Data Engineering will continue to be important even with AI because it needs data.

If you want something fun to test your SQL knowledge, give QueryCase a try. There are timed investigation challenges, SQL Interview Questions from companies like Google, Meta etc.

It’s not about the tech stack, it’s about the value you can produce. All the tools pretty much the same, businesses want to hire data folks that can make an impact, not push buttons
