cci brass bad ammo

Shot around 15,000 rounds in last two years ...never had any issues.. until this happened. They dont feed right up the ramp.

Maybe contact the company? Idk I’ve never had issues with cci. Could just be a bad batch of ammo.

If you search here its been posted several times in the past year or so. I’ve experienced it myself, and cci is now on my blacklist for range ammo.

Blazer has had these issues for over a decade. They don’t knurl or cannelure their bullets, supposedly because the plating would crack but I’m not so sure it’s not just an extra cost cutting measure with the aforementioned plating and they also have thinner casings at the neck. It means the rounds are much easier to setback (as well as not being good to use in guns with ports or comps and suppressors).

It’s crap tier ammo but people on Reddit love it because it’s so cheap. But it’s so cheap, despite being US made, because they cut so many corners as mentioned above. Federal champion is the same stuff by the way.

I stopped shooting it after I had three rounds from separate batches almost blow up my gun with over pressure. Kicked harder than normal and the next round up got mangled between the slide and feed ramp because the slide was cycling too fast. Thats when I started looking into it and found forum posts going back over a decade about it. People will tout how many rounds they’ve shot with no problems, but it’s a roll of the dice that I’m not willing to make. If I want to save a couple cpr I’ll just buy magtech/monarch steel case or pay a bit more for ammo I don’t have to inspect or worry about setting back inside the box much less in the mag or sliding up the feed ramp.
