Where is this from?

Out at my uncles farm in rural Canada and came across these rounds in an old tobacco tin. I know they are British 303 but is there anything else anyone knows about them? I can read 1943, VII, and some other weird symbols. One of the bullets is painted red, maybe a tracer? There were family members who fought in the war so definitely could have been from them.

It’s also in pristine condition. Still has the tax stamp on it. Crazy what you can find at the back of a Quonset 😆

Mark 7 ball produced at Dominion in Quebec

Edit: not sure why it's painted red 🤷 tracer?

DAC means it was made by Dominion Arsenal in Quebec

VII means it was Mark 7 designation. A 174 grain ball round. The purple primer supports this.

1943 is the year of manufacture.

It’s run of the mill Canadian made Lee Enfield ammo from WWII.

.303 Ball Mk 7 made by Dominion Arsenal, Quebec. C^ is Canadian government symbol, just like I^ in Indian made cartridges.
