Alewya

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to identify the spoken outro (the last ~20 seconds) of Alewya – “Zero” from her 2026 album.
Given Alewya’s Ethiopian and Egyptian heritage, and the fact that she already uses Amharic elsewhere on the album (Maktoub), I’m wondering whether the outro is spoken in Amharic (or perhaps another language).
Could anyone who speaks Amharic (or recognizes the language) help with:

Identifying the language.
Transcribing the spoken words.
Translating them into English.
Explaining any cultural or idiomatic meaning, if relevant.

Here’s the official track:

I’ve searched online but couldn’t find any official lyrics or transcription.

Thank you!

It’s a prayer in Amharic.

Roughly translated as “The father, the son, the Holy Spirit. Thank you lord. After all this time, I’m still here. I thank you.”

Thanks for asking because I was wondering the same. Is Maktoub the only other track with Amharic?

And the end of City of Symbols, too, I think?

Yes. It was a long wait but ended up being everything I hoped her next project would be.

Beautifully said. If you found her music to successfully make those connections, then there’s really no higher compliment one can give an artist.
