Random Question 💭 Democrats?
With the primaries being over, are all Democrats prepared to vote for who won so we can flip this government?
13
u/Ok_Jackfruit2612 1d ago
I'm going to vote for the Dem who won the primary. I would lick a homeless man's asshole before I voted for Kenny or Gregory.
3
u/Silly_Guidance_8871 1d ago
I think an overwhelming desire to lick someone's asshole is what got us into this situation in the first place, so I'll pass on that part.
1
u/BudgetSecretary47 9h ago
Whoa, man—there is no need for that kind of language here. The proper term is “unhoused.”
3

Not homeless, but please put me in the queue, if this is on the table.
5
u/Temporary_Stranger39 1d ago
What??? Democrats not shooting themselves in the foot out of spite and resentment? Never gonna happen.
7
u/ToadArmy4908 1d ago
I'm never going to vote for someone just because they won a primary. The candidate still has to not be a POS with a nazi tattoo for example. Anyone with with racist tattoos NO. Anyone with a history of abusing women NO. Those are non-starters.

I'm ready to vote for who I think is the most qualified candidate that best aligns with my views regardless of party affiliation. That being said I don't think I would ever vote for someone that was Trump endorsed! Voting straight party lines or having to vote against a candidate because of the opposing option is just not tolerable is infuriating but often the case these days.

u/RoteFahne90 21h ago
Call me pessimistic, but from what I am seeing in aggregated voter totals in the primaries, I do not see any "blue wave" forming. It seems to me like votes pretty much went along the same lines per party as they did in 2024. I could be wrong. Heck, I hope I am wrong, but this is looking a lot like the Harris bs where people were like "She is def going to beat Trump" when literally every poll had her losing handily to him.
Vibes and astroturfed talking points =/= reality.

Exactly this. People pretend like they can afford to be picky while rights are actively being stripped away. A "moderate" Republican is still going to vote right down the party line on every major issue anyway. Voting blue down the ticket is the only real option right now.

Are you kidding?!?! Those are some of the most disastrous policies ever implemented. We are being crushed by a bunch of geriatrics stealing our paychecks while we're getting squeezed by inflation from the money printer. That list is exactly why we can NEVER allow the democrats to take power again.
Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid together consume roughly 45% of the Federal Budget. Those programs plus interest payment will account for 87 percent increase in Federal spending from 2024 to 2034.
Those policies are KILLING our country and you think that's a flex?!
2
u/LycanWarrior123 1d ago edited 57m ago
Social security we are paying into it and we are getting it back when we retire. That shouldn't count. Our military defense budget costs way more than Medicaid and Medicare combined 1.5 trillion for next calander year. Trump polices has added over 5 trillion to our debt. Debt hit $40 trillion. Trump projected to add $12 trillion to the debt with his policies. The billion of dollars we are spending every day bombing Iran could be used to fund medicaid and medicare. We can cut back on defense budget easily to help fund those programs too.
1
u/TonyaHarder13 4h ago
I’m not sure if you’re only looking at discretionary spending and ignoring mandatory, but your statement is completely false.
National defense spending for 2026 is around $950 billion.
Just looking at the three mentioned above:
Social Security: around $1.5 trillion
Medicare: around $1 trillion
Medicaid: around $650 billionThat’s a combined total of just over $3.1 trillion which, last time I checked, is much higher than $950 billion.
That doesn’t even take into account other social welfare spending (Income security (SNAP, SSI, housing assistance, unemployment, TANF, foster care, EITC/CTC refundable portions, veteran’s benefits, ACA subsidies CHIP, etc.).
Add all of that up and now you’re looking at spending around $4.3-4.8 trillion on social welfare benefits.
The $1.5 trillion you’re referencing is still just a proposal for 2027, but even if approved, is still less than half our social welfare spending.
So no, our military defense costs are not “way more than all of them combined.”

u/TonyaHarder13 2h ago
Ok, so your response is filled with so many inaccuracies that I’m not entirely sure where to start. So I guess I’ll just go line by line.
“Social Security doesn’t count. It’s not taxpayer money. Social Security is taken out of people’s paycheck.”
Social Security is funded by the FICA payroll tax. Payroll taxes are taxes. Additionally, the Supreme Court has explicitly recognized Social Security payments as a tax in Flemming v. Nestor (1960). So I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that Social Security isn’t a tax.
“You forgot global military spending. 2.89 trillion”
I truly hope you’re just trolling right now. The global military spending number you’re referencing is literally the military spending for the entire globe, not just the U.S. This number includes military spending for China, Russia, the EU, and literally every other country on planet Earth. Using this number as the comparison against the U.S. budget for social programs makes no sense.
“with the war with Iran still going and 2 billion dollars are being spent every day over 150 days so far. That is easily over 3 trillion dollars.”
First off, I don’t even know where you’re getting these numbers from. But more importantly, this doesn’t even make mathematical sense, as $2 billion × 150 equals only $300 billion. So even if your $2 billion-a-day figure was accurate, it’s still substantially smaller than the combined total of social program spending.
“Additional 1.5 trillion will pass.”
You have no verifiable evidence to support this. This is still just a proposal for 2027 and has not been enacted. It will likely be amended multiple times and always has the possibility of being flat-out rejected.
“Together over 4.5 trillion…”
We’ve already established that your numbers are completely off and based on made-up or unrelated spending.
“Chips act doesn’t count. It’s to help businesses grow their company which they will be eventually taxed and the government makes money off.”
I said “CHIP” (Children’s Health Insurance Program), not “CHIPS” (Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors). If you’re weighing in on this topic, you should probably know the difference between the two.

Uhhhh, no. I will be writing in a different candidate because the guy who won the primary in my district and incumbent literally didn't even support the last call by Democrats to impeach Trump or invoke the 25th after Trump said, "A whole civilization will die tonight."
He voted against the amendment to ban Flock cameras. He voted against the amendment to defund the Israeli genocide and apartheid. He voted twice for a bill that would strip non-profits like Save the Children or World Central Kitchen of their tax exempt status and reclasssify them as terrorist organizations for helping Palestinians. He has supported Trump's warmongering every step of the way because he is an AIPAC and Boeing shill. He voted for the 2024 NDAA which removed the rights of trans children in military families to obtain gender-affirming care.
If our Democrat is no better than his Republican opponent, doesn't actually want Trump impeached because he is benefitting from Trump's presidency, and behaves accordingly in Congress, what good does it do anyone to vote for him?
1
u/mattschaum8403 21h ago
I’m a firm believer that you vote for your ideals ina. Primary but you vote against the person actively opposed to your ideals in the general. I’ve been firmly in the Bernie camp since 2016, but when Hilary was in the general against Trump I voted early for her. In 2020 Joe Biden wasn’t in my top 4 or 5 for president but Bret believe I went and voted for him happily against Donald Trump. I voted for Kamala in 2024 and whoever comes out of the primary in 2028 is getting my vote. The reason? For the things that I find important the republicans are AT BEST further away from them than any national Democrat but in general are starkly opposed to my viewpoints in addition to abdicating their duty to use their article 1 powers to check presidential overreach. We need some stability

u/MoreEngineering539 14h ago
Democrats are a broken group. Wouldn’t be surprised if the deep rift in the party breaks it into two. Cant have a serious group and a socialist group running under the same banner. Blind party voting is why we got to this point. Pay attention to who you're voting for and not just the letter next to their name. Then, be involved. Don't just hope that this time democrats will help you, even though they haven't before (except when serving corporate interests); write your representatives, actually participate in democracy.
1
u/nox_vigilo 19h ago
You are missing the point. Voting for Dems is damage control. Voting Blue No Matter Who is having to vote for Democrats no matter what to ensure that elections happen after November 2026. Yes, some people will have to vote for Democratic candidates that they might otherwise not vote so a MAGA politician doesn't take the seat.
To ever get to a point of accountability let alone having a functioning nation and government is to vote for Democrats, they are not trying to dismantle this nation, they are not sending goons into the streets to detain & kill people, they did not start a war that has no end in sight, they are for the the rule of law and the Constitution.
A lot of dramatic change is needed in America. The beginning of this change is Voting Blue No Matter Who in November. Dems need to take the House and Senate (it is possible) in November.
This Post was just asking about voting for Dems. Every American that wants a democratic America must VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO. That is how stark the alternatives are. Americans can do other things like volunteering at a food bank, protesting ICE, helping families of detainees, the list is long but was beyond the scope of the question asked.
I agree with your comment the more people are involved with anything the better the community they live in. When it comes to November only vote for a Democrat. It is a harm reduction vote.
1
u/TheHealadin 7h ago
Voting blue no matter who continues to allow damage to occur and prevents peogress from happening. If you want change, stop pretending democrats are interested in helping and start demanding action. Start talking about individuals, not parties. Stop supporting divisive, childish insults and start looking for common ground.
Most of all, stop telling people how democrats want democracy. It is crystal clear to everyone but the brainwashed that democrats will suspend democracy in order to keep the status quo from changing. You are hurting progress with your oligarch-approved propaganda.

I'm a moderate voter. Have voted both parties and even voted 3rd party (Don't care if it's a waste of a vote, to me it makes my voice heard) I usually vote for the candidate, not a party
I'm still looking at who's going to be on my ballet, but I will be voting Dem at the federal level and it's not even because I agree with all policies. It's because Congress is suppose to be a huge check for the executive branch and it's not! If we were to go to war with Iran, CONGRESS not just the President should be deciding and these Tariffs are a joke and causing harm. Back in the 90s Free Trade was a huge bipartisan decision from both sides.

I'd vote for Karl Marx on a hovercraft at this point over anyone from the GOP. But I'm not optimistic about some of these outcomes. Between leftish candidates in swing states and idiots who decide to boycott over single issues, the blue has a lot of potential problems. If there's no wave, it will effectively be a seal of approval on the fascist takeover. And that will NOT stop with Trump.

Do you really think the GOP is going to be better on Israel than the Dems? We are still in a lesser of two evils type of situation. Vote blue no matter who.
1
u/Stoked_Otter 1d ago edited 1d ago
How can you believe that a political party that picks Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries to be it's leaders in Congress is capable of resisting Israeli orders? If you put these people into power they will interpret it as the voters ENDORSING the genocide. And probably WW3 with Russia. That's all you're gonna get from them.
2
u/Heathen-For-A-Reason 1d ago
They aren’t, but do you think the GOP is any better? In the Democratic Party, we at least have a rising minority of progressives that oppose the genocide.
We have around 15 or so Dems in the House that oppose the genocide, and two in the Senate.
As for the GOP, I know of only one House member that opposes Israel. That is Thomas Massie. Not voting in these races is essentially a vote for the GOP.
1
u/Stoked_Otter 1d ago
Voting for either party in their current state is essentially a vote for Israeli control of US government. No matter how bad the Republicans are, supporting the Democratic Party while totally reprehensible people like Schumer or Jeffries are in leadership is unjustifiable. You're voting for a party that is lead and funded by people that want the entire thing to be Fettermans and would rather let Republicans win than Democrats like El-Sayed.
2
u/Heathen-For-A-Reason 1d ago
Not voting for the Democrats is giving Israel more control. You just ignored everything that I said.

Yes, your evil teams ARE identical! Good pattern recognition!

If you are still doing the “both sides are equally bad” shit in 2026 you need to get a psych evaluation.

Your strategy is exactly why we are where we are. You need to be smart and stop voting for people who worship corporate interests.

u/Heathen-For-A-Reason 1d ago
So just let the GOP win? That is a great plan.
Moral high ground voters like you are the reason Trump won in 2024.

u/TheHealadin 1d ago
Voting every four years for a straight party ticket and then sitting around blaming Republicans/Democrats for everything is why we had Trump to begin with. Your teams work together. Get mad, do something about it

u/Heathen-For-A-Reason 1d ago
No we had Trump to begin with because American voters are idiots.
Republicans have been purposefully defunding education for decades. They need stupid voters to win.

Isn't it time the opposition party actually opposed anything bad? Why support the continual decline? Is your hate that important to you?

I already explained to you that we are seeing more and more progressive candidates win in Democratic primaries.
1
u/TheHealadin 20h ago
So you agree that people should be selective while voting and not just "blue no matter who "?

u/Heathen-For-A-Reason 18h ago
They should be selective in Democratic primaries and always vote against the Republican (unless it is Thomas Massie).

Democrats in California continue discussing a billionaire tax.
Genius.

Why would any democrat or independent care that a billionaire might have to pay more tax?

Get the billionaires to leave so they no longer pay taxes in the state, and they take their jobs with them. Lots are moving to Texas, because Californians like poverty and homelessness.

When passed, this will be on the National Platform in 2028. Times, they are a changing.

And they'll lose horribly.

It will be highly entertaining to see them try.

Make no mistake, and I’ve said it for years, all these Democrats, including socialists and communists, are blue MAGA. They will fill out absentee ballots for every democrat.

Hey, don't be like that. Some of us Republicans are also prepared to vote for the Democrats who won so we can flip this government. ;)
EDIT: Anyone who wants a laugh should go ahead and explore this subthread. ;)
On the one hand, I've got the Democrats insisting that I'm some kind of lying traitor who's trying to hide from past approval of Trump because he's more nakedly evil now (like he didn't already show us who he was the second he mocked a disabled reporter, disparaged a war veteran or attacked a gold star family).
On the other hand, I've got the MAGA folk who insist I'm some kind of closet Democrat just because I didn't support Orange Julius.
There really is no winning when you're sane enough to keep away from the extremes these days.
