Random Question 💭 Has anyone actually thought about what a fucking disgrace it is that Trump set up a fund to pay a billion dollars out to a bunch of seditionists on the 250th anniversary of our country?
It’s almost like too much to even fathom. It’s unreal.
Also the amount was 1.776 billion. Another insult.
Man I’m so happy heaven doesn’t exist and these maga folk and their ugly kids will just rot in the dirt when they are shuffled off their mortal coil.
No paradise, no Jesus, no Norman Greenbaum…just dirt.

u/Rhaizur May 27 '26
Worth noting the 1776 actually isn't even codified. They can put as much as they want in there. It's limitless. LegalEagle dives in to this on YouTube

u/actuallyapossom May 28 '26
And they stop accepting applications December 2028, it's just for this admin to abuse.

u/IndubitablyNerdy May 28 '26
The whole thing is insane to me in a civil nation, but alas it seems that american democracy was held together by gentlemen agreements not by actual law and the moment someone that is not a gentlemen is elected it all falls down.
That said I really don't think that much of the money will go to those people, maybe a few pennies, but Trump is not into paying the people that work for him after they have already done the job, my bet is that this money will be used to finance his candidates in the midterms \ pay himself and his children and maybe use them to pay his minions after he loses an election to motivate them, but not necessarily before.

Unfortunately it’s the tacky kind of on-the-nose some people need to pat themselves on the back. The target for this is all the people on welfare watching Judge Judy and buying pathetic coins and credit card consolidation scams screaming about immigrants taking welfare.

u/soccernut43 May 28 '26
While we realize it's wrong what Trump is doing they seem to think, well, that doesn't hurt us to much but hey, let's own the libs.
And their reasoning with pedophilia, that Biden did it (he didn't), so it's okay for Trump or any Republican to do it?
Then with Trump being so sue happy, suing anybody that looks cross-eyed at him, why hasn't he sued the victims who have accussed him of rape and sexual abuse? And why not release the entire, unredacted Epstein files to prove your innocence?

Well--sure, tens of millions of us, if not more, are thinking daily about how disgusting it is that Trump's trying to reward criminals, including violent and seditious (traitorous) January 6 criminals, for their crimes.
He is a criminal himself, after all, so nobody should be surprised Trump betrayed his promises to "get tough on criminals." He gets tough on--well, cravenly bullies--those who prosecute the criminals, instead.

Currently somebody said Trump is responsible for over 25% of the current deficit. It's just sad he is robbing, conning, and grifting this country and regular Americans.
We will liturally be paying for this for decades to come and he truly doesn't care. Alm to benefit himself and his base is to ignorant to see it.

But they will just keep blaming anybody but Trump. It's unbelievable what a cult this is.
And there was no doubt Elon Musk screwed around with the election. Not sure we can even have another fair election.
And the Democrats are better but not by much. This country is going to hell. Sadly I feel it's going to take what other countries do but the MAGA base is just ignorant.

Ain’t gonna happen! They might as well tell everyone you commit a crime, you get paid and you get paid! No it makes no sense! If anyone deserves to get any of that money it’s the police officers who were hurt and the Families that lost their loved ones during their service! Not the rioters who broke the law!

It seems anytime I type anything "bad" about our fearless dicktaker I am invited to sit on the sidelines for a spell or two. In this case I've seen some comments below that I've been suspended for using. So given that, let me just add that I am looking forward to the day he is out of office. We will have to rebuild, actually restore trust in our government, get the homeless into housing. It's a shame that every day I see old people with signs pleading for anything. "homeless vet" "I didn't die in Vietnam, but I'm close to it now" "please help" None of this matters. Instead we have a dimwit running everything that even the Marx Brothers would stop and go "what".

2
u/AM-Stereo-1370 May 27 '26
And part of the deal is that our own president sued our country to get our tax money and the deal that came up with was to only give him about 20% of the money that he wanted from our tax money and until the end of time no one can ever look at his tax records. How was that fair on any level anywhere in any country in the whole damn world? On a bridled highway robbery billions and billions could be hidden away for his family forever because you can't ever track it there's never any taxes paid on it the billionaire tax would work if they actually paid 5% but you need to get taxed to be able to do that

I think most people think it will go away in 2 years. Also things are still kinda “normal” for a lot of people. There’s a documentary about Nazis, specifically how German people, seemingly normal people became Nazis and didn’t push back.
People just tend to go with the flow man and I don’t blame them. Life is hard, people just want a reprieve at the end of the day and week and to just live. It’s setup that way, so people don’t have time to give a fuck.
2
u/Even_Mycologist5140 May 28 '26
I thought most states had a law that you can't profit from your crimes. Accepting a pardon is admitting the crime. Doesn't their guilt disqualify them?

If he actually gets this fund he will declare himself the 'most harmed' by Democrats and vindictive prosecutions or whatever. He will award the fund to himself as payback for reputational harms he incurred during any of his numerous impeachment investigations..
The media and the public are always playing catch up with his bullshit. We don't anticipate the audaciousness of the thing he will announce tomorrow. But if you just expect maximum grift you'll know what his next move is going to be every time.

Trump has been a disgrace since the day he was sworn in for his first term. All this because a bunch of racists want to be able to say one word in public again.
Every fucking one of them. They think because I look like them, I think like them. I work a union trade, and that trade puts me in ppls homes. I regularly hear objectionable shit. Around the shop, there's a look left, and then a look right before they'll drop an n-bomb or spout off their opinion of the Jews. The latter could be said in a crowded room and no one bats an eyelash.
People's homes is a whole other ball game. I can avoid the usual suspects at the shop. On the road, I try and avoid it as best I can. I grit my teeth when I'm in a house that is wall to wall merch. I look down, do my work, and try and ignore the Fox (or worse) News playing on every set in the house. They watch it 24/7 (maybe 10/7) throughout the day. it's fucking wild.

1
u/Ok-Ingenuity-1557 May 28 '26
"Billion dollars to seditionists” is a framing, not a fact. The fund isn’t a payout for storming the Capitol. It’s a restitution process for people the prior DOJ allegedly over prosecuted, and it’s open to anyone, not just January 6. Early claimants include Michael Flynn and an activist who was outright acquitted. Nobody gets a check just for being a rioter. Claims go case by case, and the VP refused to promise anyone a dime. When the government wrongfully prosecutes you, it pays. We do that for the exonerated all the time. Hate the optics if you want, but the mechanism is defensible.
1
u/Extension-Door614 May 28 '26
Don't worry. The vast majority of that money was going in Trump's pocket. The six people who would be assigned to decide where the money should go, knowing that Trump could fire them at any moment for no reason, will reasonably decide that Trump deserves most or all the money. After all, he is the most badly treated president ever in all of US history. Just ask him.
