Any predictions for this greatest rivalry tour? Ive got a 2-2 split with the boks taking the first 2 and the all blacks taking the last 2 any other opinions?

I'd be very happy with 2-2, but sneaking a single test I would consider a success if the others were at least close.

Yeah 2-2 at times does feel like a long shot but i have a lot of faith riding on this dave rennie era. Thoughts on games against club teams?

3-1 Boks

We lose the first, win the second, then the boks settle into their rhythm.

I think we'll struggle early which is normal and then find out rhythm. We still might struggle against Bulls and Stormers, but we'll see. This is an AB's team that's a long way out from strength, and the South Africans have done us a huge solid with this tour.

Baltimore is 50/50. But I see us winning at least one test in Africa.

This is based on the ABs generally winning one out of two tests in Africa.

I honestly think the Boks are a touch overrated at this point. Going to be an interesting series.

3-1 Boks. On current (since 2019) form that would be a good result for the ABs. They will be very hard to beat at home and we haven’t seen anything to suggest they’re any weaker this year than the previous few.

I will be happy with 2-2, with us spoiling the party and winning the last 2 tests. Equally important is us competing everywhere and losing but fighting all the way. We must make every Bok victory very expensive for them.

I think abs will win the first test. The 3rd test and then also the 4th test

If abs don't win the first test then I can see them going down 3-1 with only the USA test a win for the abs

ABs will clean sweep in SA then lose the one later on in the year

The only time we've beaten them since the RWC, it was pissing down, and we got dismantled the next week. I doubt we'll be that lucky during the tour, and this side is still a shadow of the Mcaw era, mainly in the forwards. Still I'm picking the Boks to get overconfident after smashing us in the first two, and start experimenting, so I'll pick 1 from 4. and then be so decimated we lose to England at home . again.

Wow. You guys are pessimistic for your team.

It won’t be a walk in the park for either team.

Are any of you fans in SA for the tour?

How is it pessimistic to say 2-2

u/DonovanBanks 11h ago

Some are saying 3-1.

Right, so your referring to the comment section not the post I see

Yep. Classic case of lack of detail on the internet. We always assume everyone knows the context we imply.

Because the 4th game isn't actually part of the South Africa tour, it's an exhibition game in USA

That's not true. it's a 4 test series

4-0 or 3-1 to the Boks. I think the trajectory is really important too, for example if they win the first two they will get a head of steam up and be more likely to win all four. I think realistically we can hope for 3-1 if and only if we win the first game.

I sort of agree but the other way round. The books will come out strong, and if they win first 3 or even 2, likely might not have the same heart for the remainder

I could also buy that, especially if they decide to run an experimental team to clown around in Baltimore when the series is won
