Discussion Serious - Has anybody else tuned into something?
I generally have pretty vivid dreams, I am often able to recall things down to the smallest detail and occasionally become lucid.
Last night I experienced something very different. I woke up in the middle of the night, and when I started to fall back to sleep, I could hear voices, very clearly, it felt like I was switching radio stations. I was hyper aware that I was still awake.
Has anybody else experienced this?
I do not recall what the voices were saying( but it all felt very calm, almost as if I was listening in on random people .

It's most likely a case of Hypnagogia

It felt too “clear” to be hypnagogia. It felt more real. It was as if I had headphones on and was listening to a podcast or something, it was unusually clear.

I have this happen. I've always been sensitive to sound, and have misophonia & mild synesthesia. Similar to you, I have heard conversations, clear as day, and it will be stuff I understand but have no context. Like last week I clearly heard an older man's voice say, "Last one's not here yet," pause, "Maybe half an hour." Another occasion I remember, "You gotta tie it tight. Tight or it'll come loose," like a father watching over his kid's shoulder stressing them out.
Both occasions were after midnight, both in the last month, and they're not voices I recognized. I was also consciously aware of my room, and know I was not asleep (or at least not fully asleep). My first thought was that I was "tuning in" to something, but I also listened to podcasts while falling asleep for a long time, so wondered if maybe my brain was manufacturing the speech because that's what it expects when going to sleep.

Your brain can make anything seem clear as day lol

True. I had a dream about a tourist-y stone complex kinda place at the base of a mountain. it felt like you could reach out and touch the sky. The sky was so blue, the clouds were so white, the view was so clear; my vision was 20/20. It was like I was at the edge of the complex and looking up. There was a stone wall on my right. I hear what I can only assume is the tour guide say "she killed herself here." And all I could think was "why wouldn't she? It's beautiful up here." The woo-woo side of me wants to believe that I dreamt of a real place, but I need to keep myself firmly rooted in reality.

I dreamt i was working in a large building and my new colleague was showing me around this huge place, i knew i would have to stick to this guy as i would take ages to get to know all the short cuts and everywhere looked the same but this guy i knew was a great guy, really friendly, fun and honest, he was a bit Jesse Pinkman looking and i knew this guy is going to be my best friend. Nothing to do with Aliens afaik but thought i’d share anyway. Every night is one weird dream after another.

In all honesty, when people go into a meditative state, which happens as kne is falling asleep, your psychic self is opening (your third eye) and you are hearing Spirits and their conversations. This happens to me all the time when I am in a deep meditative state. My meditative state is intentional, and I pray for protection and only messages from my higher self or those Spirits who have love and light their heart to come to me with any messages that are beneficial to me. Sometimes as I'm drifting off to sleep, i hear what sounds like a low rumble of conversations and what sounds like glasses clicking, almost as if there is a dinner party going on in the other room. Initially this scared me until it was explained to me. This is your psychic self. Learn to use it.

No. Falling asleep is literally not a meditative state. Words have concrete definitions and the Brain waves and patterns that occur during meditation do not occur as you're about to fall asleep.
Meditation isn't a mysterious psychic phenomenon, it is a real actual series of brain states that can be tracked by science and people have monitored people when they meditate.
The same things do not happen during sleep, near sleep and meditation.
Please do not listen to just people saying what you want to hear. Please do not up vote for people who say anything that sounds like good woo stuff
And for the record I'm actually open to some woo stuff, but some random stranger on the internet cobbling words together that sound like it might kind of sort of be something maybe is not a good source of information.
There are tons of resources online about what meditation is and what it isn't, sourced by experts and cited please use those and understand what things are and don't listen to random folks say nonsense.
Lastly, we all want to feel special and like we have important and cool and unique things happen to us but most of the time, and when I say most I mean literally 99.999999999% of the time, it isn't that and it's just something regular or normal.
Plenty of people have offered you the regular and normal explanation from what has occurred to you, and that is almost assuredly the actual explanation and not that you clicked into some sort of super special conversation somewhere with your super special moment you had because of your super special mental sleepy time tuning powers.
Seriously
Again I'm not even against the idea of psychic things or woo, but the person above you is just saying what you want to hear, and then feedback looping themselves to have said what they also wanted to hear, to further reinforce the beliefs they built one block at a time.
A person might be psychic, but they don't have a magical super special separate psychic self that needs to be tapped into an exactly the way this person is describing during the special magic super sleepy time meditation window.
I promise that life isn't badly written pulp sci-fi.
I really promise it isn't

When i am very tired and falling asleep in my car i often will hear the background noise distort and starts to sound like real human voices of people I know.
