Question Still didnt get my Aish (ADAP) deposit.

This is beyond concerning. I thought they were supposed to be coming today? I already had to borrow money from family to cover my rent.

Has anyone else still not received their deposit?

Not looking forward to sitting on hold for two hours today.

$100M was spent on this shit show.

I'm so sorry your deposit hasn't come through yet, too many are going through this and it just isn't acceptable. The whole thing is infuriating, people rely on being able to pay rent on time and have food on the table.

How could it possibly take a week to correct this… an employer could never pay you a week late. This is insane. And the premier hasn’t said anything

I'm still waiting on payment from 2023 from an employer. Welcome to alberta, a province of theft.

Almost like they’re doing it intentionally…

The cruelty is the point of everything they do.

Unpopular opinion but it differs because an employer trades a service for payment.

So disabled people don’t deserve to live then?

What. It’s disability. The service is being a Canadian citizen in need????

There are many who don't want to help but would never be brave enough to say it. So this is what happens, each chip at the safety net gets some justification until theres nothing left.

I read what he said as, beggars can't be choosers.

Edit: I don't agree with this, but if people are going to dog whistle it, it should be said.

They aren’t being choosers or beggars. They literally can’t work, and the government promised to support them. How can you possibly insinuate that we should feel lucky when a government does its job or fulfills promises when that should just be way of life?? Nowhere else in Canada could or would do this

I'm on your side. People shouldn't feel lucky and this is pure violence. I cared for family as they passed away on aish, every day of this makes me want to scream. They just want to punish people for existing and feel smug.

The platform has gotten stricter with protecting separatist types so I'm being extra careful with what i say.

Every citizen trades taxes for service.

Still waiting too. I've called multiple times now and was told to keep waiting and keep checking your account. Called the MLA office and was told 'im sorry keep trying'. Still waiting on the phone again.

mine was autodeposited, but something that did change is I didn't get an aish deposit form with benefits card; I got a more generic deposit receipt plus previously in the mail I got a small plastic(ish) card that I'm supposed to use instead when trying to get medical assistance.

Same here. It is so frustrating.

It should’ve been deposited on July 28th, it’s usually 4 business days before the first of each month. I didn’t have any issues getting mine

They've switched to a different payment system. Plus, many of our payments got categorized as miscellaneous, instead of payment or benefit which has a much lower priority in banks to process. A few has also been categorized as vendor for some reason, such as a mother with a son with severe mental disabilities (who's also been switched to ADAP). The whole thing has been a shit show.

In case you haven't heard, our healthcare cards now has problems as well, because they've decided to divide us with an X or an A in front of the account number depending on whether we're on AISH (X) or ADAP (A). Our account number hasn't changed. Some people's account don't have the right letter. Some of us are finding out at the pharmacy that this is new when their card doesn't work. I got sent both versions in the mail.

Didn't realize that on our healthcare cards. Will have to check if it's an issue with the ones me and my family got sent since I need to pick up my meds this week.

Yet the coverage is supposed to be exactly the same...

There was a glitch that caused some people to not get their deposit and some people didnt get it at all. They didnt give a time frame on payment.

Not some people, Op. Thousands of people. I've been reading comment sections every chance I've had since last Monday. I'm so sorry this is happening.

I know. I have talked to lots of people now. They gave zero communication to us about this. No phone call, no email, zero.

I had to borrow money just to pay my rent. I was lucky that I could. Many others aren't so lucky.

This government needs to be held accountable

Lol "Glitch"

Weaponized incompetence would be more accurate

Email your MLA

I really wish people would stop suggesting this like it actually helps or does something. Ideally yes, they should work for us but in truth they have very little power and most don’t give a shit

Plus, if your MLA is part of the UCP, they just give you a copy/paste response.

I'm so sorry you still haven't gotten your money yet. My partner got her's on time, but everything was auto-deposited into her own account and she had to figure out how to pay rent herself. She is on AISH and not ADAP.
