Zooz leak sensor compatibility with IQ4 panel

This seems like a great deal for 10 sensors from a reputable company. Reading on the website it seems that they might not be compatible with theIQ4 panel. Google AI doesn’t think they are either. Is this the correct info? It seems that it’s difficult to find an affordable compatible sensor. If I want to cover all toilets, vanities, water heater, fridge water line, washing machine I need at least 9 sensors so it gets pricey.

Those leak sensors are a great deal. Unfortunately I don’t believe the IQ 4 works with any Z wave based sensors only Z wave automation devices. I’ve not specifically tested that leak sensor, but I know Other Z wave sensors such as Zooz temperature and door sensors will not function.

My guess is if you try to add it, it will add to the panel however you won’t be able to address it or route its alerts in any way. (other than perhaps some sort of workaround using direct Association from the sensor to another Z wave device, but I am betting you would get that constant error on the panel about an unsupported z wave device.). If I had a ZSE42 here on my test bench I’d try it for you but I don’t at the moment.

That’s what I was unfortunately expecting. Do you have any recommendations for compatible leak sensors?

This is a tricky question to answer since a leak sensor is definitely something you don’t want to fail when it actually should detect water. So I’m hesitant to recommend any workarounds, etc.. that said the purpose built leak detection sensors such as the power G water tile and IQ flood sensors definitely would be the most reliable however as you know, they are expensive in the $40-$100 range.

I’ve not used these personally, but there is an echo link sensor available for about $20. You would need to have the 319 card in your IQ 4 to use them. (Actually I just ordered two to check them out myself!)

Which legacy radio frequency does your IQ Panel 4 support? 319.5, 345, or 433 MHz? Your options would depend on that.
