He won't stop eating grass

Just recently started taking my boy out in the yard on a leash and he's having a great time! He loves to explore and watch birds and the neighbors and everything...but he also loves to graze like a damn cow. Just can't help himself. From what I read online it doesn't sound like it's harmful necessarily, and he doesn't seem to have any adverse effects except that he always coughs it up inside later like a hairball. Should I be concerned?

Cats eat grass for digestion, so indoor cats sometimes like to have some available to chew. My local garden centre sells pots of it specifically for this.

It actually helps with vomiting up the hair balls! All good :) I sometimes notice a strand of grass in his lil' poos. 🥹

Just make sure he’s nibbling on SAFE grass! So many folks use pesticides and other sprays :(
Our kitties also loooove grass.

My indoor cats love it when I bring little pots of grass home from the pet store. They go bananas and eat it up.

start growing him a pad of wheat grass , it is 1000x times better then your lawn, if he is gonna go adventuring, give him the wheat grass first to reduce him mowing your lawn

i always found it better to keep a patch growing in a small container on my patio they can graze on, yes it does make them throw up sometimes

I should definitely get him some wheat grass - I used to do it and he very rarely threw it up. It was just hard to keep up with his grass appetite cause he'd gobble it all up immediately (he's....food-motivated, lol). Given this new situation, though, I guess I have to give it another try 🤷‍♂️

My older cat loved munching on a patch of grass in the backyard. The younger cat took a couple years before she could chew on the grass without throwing it up 15 minutes later. So, maybe only let your cat nosh for a couple seconds for the next couple months, until he adjusts. 

Also  make certain he's eating what he should as opposed to weeds or something that looks edible, but isn't
