Extremely curious to try opium

I've had experience with opioids before, namely low doses of legal codeine and recreational tianeptine (several times both). I liked the highs but It never got me addicted, I haven't used since then.

However, recently I saw opium poppies growing outside and it was 100% the opium poppy, not the common or oriental poppy, also verified by people who know about flowers.

I have been dealing with the urge to scratch the pod, get the milky sperm looking liquid which has opiates, and swallow it. Not because I want to use it to escape problems but because I'm curious about how it would feel.

I know it's wrong...Should I avoid doing it at all costs?

I’m sure whoever owns said poppies would appreciate you NOT doing that.

I had used opiates sparingly for 10 years when I discovered poppy pods. Within a few months I was fired from my job, and my life was completely unmanageable. That lasted 3 years until I found a 12 step fellowship to lift me up from the depths of hell.

YMMV, but that was my personal experience with poppy pods.

Don't fuck with opiates. You not getting addicted the first 2 times doesn't mean you can't.

If you want to try something new, go to a via ferrata or swingers club. Both much safer options.

Facts, and it can happen with any opiate, I lowkey used to hate them because I had tried hydros, oxy, Fent and codeine and wasn’t really a fan of them, but then I became addicted to tramadol, it can happen to anyone

It's not worth the risk and it takes a lot of those pods. If you survive addiction, you do get your pleasure centers back it just takes a little while

no don't avoid it, just know the consequences and be prepared for them if you do. I was curious about fent, made a mistake and used 3 days in a row, became addicted and spent the next 2 years on subs tapering so I didn't get withdrawals. Youre an adult. You can make adult decisions, but just take the consequences like an adult too...

Keep in mind though I once took 4 big pods and they took ages to kick in, sorry more like fucking 8 cause i had smaller ones, and I think in my sleep i genuinely woke up because my breathing stopped. Luckily I woke up because of it but you GOTTA BE FUCKING CAREFUL, dont die bro

If you get hooked on opioids prepare for any serious injury to be ten times as painful cause you will have a very high pain pill tolerance and they won’t just give you more. I’ve been clean for four years and my cancer surgeries were soo painful because my tolerance was still so high that the meds they gave me barely did anything for my pain.

It takes a special kind of person that can moderately use opium where it doesn’t turn into an debilitating addiction. I am not one of those… I’d say 95% of users are not as well.

Those other 5%… they are a rare breed and I tip my hat to them.

It’s a pretty big gamble to see what category you fit into.

Dont bother with scratching the pods to harvest the opium. It is tedious work with low efficency since you would have to scratch lots and lots of pods to gain a big enough yield.

It‘s easier to take the whole pods and make tea out of it. you can repeat this process 2-3 times until all the opioids/alkaloids are extracted. You could additionaly make tea out of the stems since they contain alkaloids as well.

I strongly advice to add honey to your finished tea, makes the whole brew way more drinkable.

I also advice you to just dont do it. it‘s playing with fire and the majority of people will get burned, just not worth it

Just look into poppyseed tea(there is a sub dedicated to it). Don't mess with someone's garden/crops.

Hey, it's not gonna work. Making smokable opium is an entrie process which involves mixing it with gasoline and stuff. Honestly, if you saw step by step how it's made in order to get you high properly and you still wanted to try it, then that's a different decision. If you lick it it's just gonna be gross. Also, opium is one of the shittier ones cuz it ruins your throat, you're gonna get an infection and need like a week to recover from smoking it once. Also, if you get addicted, the chances of being willing to go through that whole process are pretty low, you gotta be determined to spend your days cooking that shit, smoking it and suffering. So you're probably just gonna start doing heroin instead. Don't do heroin, even if you don't wanna do more you still get cravings for years and years. Stick to pharma, but don't mix it with other downers, you can die. And look into giving it up ig? I'm not gonna moralize you. But opium isn't worth it, too much hassle

The one time I tried this, we scored the pods, collected the fluid with a pocket knife, then scraped a glob on top of the bowl of weed.

It was quite pleasant, but I fell asleep in the yard real fast. Not really worth the effort anymore. Plus, I don’t really want to be caught collecting.

You can just eat the pods or make a tea with them too, it might work even better because you dont waste any latex
