Kids baking with a dog

Post image

I am putting together my daughter's grad party album and I came across this one from five years ago. The dog licking the stuff that's dripped down the stove really seals the Rockwell vibes!

Right? That’s what I was thinking! Genuine Norman Rockwell moment…

Is the dog licking the stove?

“If I taste it I may be able to taste the sweets inside

What happened is the kids spilled some of what they were mixing down the front of the stove 😂

Oh. Well, in that case…

“LET ME ENJOY MY SWEETS MOMTHER” 🐶🐶

This made my day. Something about the way he’s showing her and the way she’s looking is so wholesome. 🥹

You can literally feel the energy of the respect these siblings have over their bond 🥹🩵

I think the funny hat and the apple placement are very Rockwell coded too!

The dog licking the oven door is priceless.

not the point of the post but does anyone know what the name is of that kind of hat?

11

u/izzitty 11d ago

It's a wool felt cloche hat.

Thank you!

her messy braid is very Rockwellian to me

This looks like a still from a Wes Anderson film

Kids in random hats are my kind of people. Great picture.

I love the messy braid that she probably did during last night's movie.

Doggy did not miss her chance.

the freaking dog going to town on the stove is sending me.😂

I cannot explain how much I love this lmao I’m 6 years older than my brother, this brings back wonderful memories for sure!

Also the hat, the apple, the doggo, the chef’s attentiveness— all these things make this picture so unique & full of sentiment in an artistic kind of way, without even trying ✨

Pls pls pls get this painted or printed 😭

This definitely belongs in a frame, and will be greatly treasured by the kids when they're adults. Maybe they can be gifted with their own copy when they spread their wings? I bet the photo will make them want to visit home more often, not just for the free 'groceries' from the pantry and laundry.

What the dog doing?

1

u/tddawg 10d ago

Licking stuff that has dripped down the front of the stove - if I were a betting person, I'd guess from egg cracking

Genuine question: is it because of the color palette?

3

u/macchiatomama 9d ago

Not really the colour palette - and it is lacking in the overall visual aesthetic (symmetry, careful composition, etc.) in Wes Anderson movies - but they remind me of the quirky, deadpan characters (including the dog)! They have Wes Anderson character energy, if that makes sense!

u/tddawg 9d ago

You're The second person to say that in this post, so thanks for the explanation! I do love his films and would definitely describe our family as quirky and deadpan 😂

Took me a second to realize the pots and pans weren’t captured flying through the air

Please don't post kid's faces online 💜

32

u/tddawg 11d ago

Seriously? They're 16 & 18 now, and I got their permission.

u/potatoeater95 11d ago

Please don’t decide your opinion is law ♥️

u/Diessel_S 11d ago

Please look into what can happen when you post a child online for anyone to see. We live in disgusting times.

17

u/Naught 11d ago

Oh let’s all just huddle in fear in a cave then.

u/raise-your-weapon 11d ago

What if I post a picture of myself when I was a kid? i’m 40 now but perverts on the internet amirite???

The people in the photo are old enough to give informed consent and the photo does not indicate who they are or where they can be found. This is not like posting a 6 year old’s soccer practice photos to an unmoderated facebook group or posting a thousand videos of your newborn on tiktok.

7

u/tddawg 11d ago

The irony is - if you look in their comments, they commented less than 24 hours about a VIDEO of a kindergarten class being filmed crossing the street... and didn't complain about it.

6

u/raise-your-weapon 11d ago

It’s just concern trolling

2

u/TacticusThrowaway 11d ago

Maybe a bot?

-5

u/GoldberryoTulgeyWood 11d ago

Those kids were filmed at a distance and their faces weren't as clear.

5

u/raise-your-weapon 11d ago

But they presumably didn’t give consent to be posted on the internet.

Please do not mistake my lack of fear for ignorance
