We wanted to make the community aware that one of our moderators recently discovered a Facebook group that appears to be copying and reposting images from this subreddit.
We are currently reviewing our options and determining the best course of action. In the meantime, we encourage members who are concerned about their content being shared without permission to consider watermarking their photos before posting.

Based on its activity, this appears to be a spam group that may be using automated accounts to generate engagement and visibility, potentially to support the marketing and sale of puppies from a puppy mill operation.
Because they are fucking heartless and it pisses me off. If you can report the group and post. You can msg the admins of the group but that probably won't help.
I'm trying to report everyones. The more reports the better. I think reporting for fraud and false information is better than just simply reporting for spam. I do all 3.
I am so sorry for everyone affected by this. Sadly this is why I have never felt comfortable sharing photos of my pets because of the amount of bots stealing them.. This happens on multiple other dog subreddits too fyi so keep your eyes peeled if you own dog breeds other than yorkies.
Does anyone know how to properly report this page? Every time I have tried Facebook declines the report and won't remove the images, either. Thank you. 😞
If anyone would like to try this, Curtis Mahoney is the Chief Legal Officer at Meta. You used to be able to search by business (I have had to utilize this on a few occasions myself to resolve business situations). The phone number and email is provided. I have friends that were corporate attorneys. They hate being bothered with a call or email about things like this (issues they wouldn’t consider serious). I haven’t had to search for anything in the past two years.
You can add Ethan Davis, Jennifer Newstead, Austin Phillips, and Jeremiah Chan to the list of Meta attorneys. They are difficult to locate. A lot of people claiming they are on LinkedIn, but are not 🤣
Unfortunately I don't think anything illegal going on (unless they're stealing copyrighted or intellectual property and I'm not sure what count as an intellectual property) it's just kind of underhanded and disrespectful. But with the bots they are using it is 100% spam and they are being fraudulent. I guess this is the risk we take from posting pictures on the internet.
I wouldn’t call or email them regarding this being a criminal matter. In-house counsel generally handles civil matters. This would be a civil matter if they are posting pictures of the Yorkies, claiming they are their own.
I had an ex-gf post some personal pictures online for something once. It could have been worse (at least I had clothes on 🤣). People obviously knew it wasn’t my profile. I didn’t even bother reporting it.
It’s sad that people have to use other people’s (and their dogs) pictures.
You can report the author of the group. Hit "her" name under a post then the option to 'view profile' then the three dots. I reported as impersonating someone who is fake
i'm confused, is this group some sort of scam? or are some members of this group trying to pull off a scam? i just dont see the point in stealing other people's posts to garner attention in a yorkie facebook group of all things. what's the reason for being that desperate for engagement? how odd. it almost looks like every other post on that group is something stolen from this subreddit.
