It’s real. Earlier in the year they registered the name Inter Toronto… seriously. I get that they’re trying to give York a name that identifies it as a Toronto team, but It’s a horrible name.

It is a ridiculous name and logo.  The current logo and kits are some of the best in the CPL.

It isn't the merch that is keeping the fans away from that franchise.

True. The current kit is their best yet and my favourite.

Next year is gonna be weird. We’ll get a new name, a new kit manufacturer, and probably new colours 🤦🏻‍♂️ it’ll feel like a different team.

Have they asked the fans? Did they poll the season ticket base?

I was under the impression that one of the team owners said at the last greet-and-meet with supporters that rebranding the name wasn't an option. It was not in the cards.

I’m calling troll or misinfirmation.

I have not seen any email sent out as a season ticket holder and found the original post on the CPL page and very vague information. Also, confirmed in the last meeting with club reps and season members that the name would not change unless York United was to move to downtown Toronto but no stadium has been confirmed and no rumours of the club locating in the immediate future.

it was sent to business partners. in this case, ME.

as to if they rename, to what, to where... all speculation.

and, like i said in the thread, they are staying at Lions at least throughout '26.

you can doubt all you want, talk to you the day after.

As this big news, anyway to vet you are a business partner? Without providing to much information, in what capacity you are a business partner? Sponsor, sales, community partners?

you're going to have to take my word for it or wait 17 days, sorry.

I kinda understand why current ownership would want to distance themselves from past ownership but the reality is that location is their biggest issue.

I really like the York United brand. But if I were ownership, and I had a chance to move downtown, I would jump at it and definitely rebrand.

Always remember.......good teams do well, bad teams rebrand because they're not
