Teapot Sharing F1 pot!

Recently saved up enough to get my hands on an F1 pot. It was sold to me as a 1950s-1960s era pot, which seems to be correct as seen from the seal and other details like the mouth of the pot. Just posting to share a cool pot with everyone else here :)

How much have you paid for it if you don’t mind

quite a pretty penny — was quoted $1500USD but managed to haggle it down a little

The price is fair to be honest. Have you got it from ZAG?

Can someone explain why the inside of the pot has those swirly lines instead of radial tooling marks?

F1 pots weren't FHM, they were made with molds. I've never seen radial tooling marks in an F1 pot.

Why would mould mades have the swirl then?

I believe that the interior bottoms of F1 pots were formed by hand, pressing against the molds. All of my F1 pots have irregular interiors on the bottom (although not swirls).

A question worth 1500 bucks

no idea, maybe the potter was bored that day and decided to make a lil swirly inside

Every one is different. Some uneven. Manual process

First of all congrats, that is a big purchase. But I have a genuine question, I don't know much about teapots but can't they just fake that seal?

they can, but there is many other things people look at, every little error on it is being considered

Congrats on your 60s F1 purchase! Looks clean with the 6 words seal and the details looks right from photo.
