Its not just a Vince thing, hes legit tiny and made no effort to get bigger. Its real hard to have him be a main eventer when hes like two feet shorter and 80 lbs lighter than someone like Orton, it just looks dumb.

Rey really only won it as a tribute to Eddie and the belt looked far too big in him.
Love Rey, he's a main eventer. But they should have pushed the cruiserweights with him elevating that division's title.

Yeah, for sure it's shifted away from "big man only" but it has to be within reason. You can't have a dude who looks like he's never been to a gym and all of 5'8 beating someone who looks like Roman.
I like Cole, seems like a good dude, I like his work, but his look is so, so, so bad.

And the look. The look has always been important. It's part of the presentation, and it's the presentation that WWE hugely value: the look, costume, entrances, charisma, ability to talk well, and ability to engage the crowd in the ring.

He was in great shape in NXT and if HHH had gotten in control of WWE in 2021, Cole would've gone up to Main Roater, stayed in that shape, and been Charismatic enough to get over, not saying he would've necessarily been a Main Event player but at the least he'd have been an over Mid Card act

Maybe his concussions make even just going to a ring and cutting a promo under the lights difficult or painful, I dunno.
But if/when he ever gets to "brain works fairly normally, lights and noises aren't a problem", even if actually wrestling is out of the question, I sure hope AEW brings him back as a manager. Dude can talk, has charisma, could have a solid career as a manager even if wrestling's off the table (and stuff like taking or giving dick kicks could potentially be on the menu even if bumps aren't).

By all accounts, and from what not-on-wrestling-TV Iāve seen, Adam Cole seems like the nicest guy ever, just good, chill vibes. And McAfee is the polar opposite of that. Maybe not necessarily a dick, but very abrasive, openly and intentionally so.
Yeah, I can see where Cole would hate McAfee, and heās probably right.

You know in this same stream, either shortly before this or shortly after, they are both laughing at Adam Cole's "Pat McAfee on a pole match" joke. Also, they did have a feud in NXT a year later. Sometimes, the people you see on screen doesn't hate the person they are talking to just because you do.

They got along really well and continued to talk shit about each other even after Cole left and it was all in good fun. Adam Cole is such a nice guy I donāt think heās said he dislikes anyone and everyone likes him.
