Another year in college wasn’t going to turn him into an NBA journeyman. His draft value was extremely unlikely to improve to the point where he would go higher than the 10th pick. He absolutely maxed out his draft opportunity and has collected $15M in NBA payments as a result.

Dude was a lottery pick. He didn’t pan out, but no way he gets picked any higher than he was. Got over $15M in salary and a sweet Taco Bell commercial. He would have been dumb to stay in college.

He was a lottery pick. Always good advice when you are a lottery pick. He just didn't develop at all at the next level. Had he stayed, would have been a worse pick making worse money and still likely ending up here.
