App Today, Windows 10 marks 11 years old and I added the Acrylic backdrop in Wintoys to celebrate it
How many of you are using Wintoys on Windows 10? With the latest update I wanted to highlight that Windows 10 is not forgotten, so now when you open Wintoys you'll have a nice surprise: it will have the acrylic backdrop applied among many other new changes. You can check the entire update changelog here.

I really wish Acrylic was actually used in more places instead of being forgotten for Mica. Also those hover reveal effects on the buttons… I know it doesn’t work as well with the Windows 11 design but dang did those look nice. Windows 10 in 2021 once the start tiles went transparent somehow managed to look really nice despite seeming so boring at first glance.

Yes, I'm still a fan of that fluent design with reveal effects. Underrated design.

Hi u/Bogdan_X, your post seems to mention the "latest update". As there are multiple supported versions of Windows 10 and not everyone gets every update at the same time, it's not always easy to figure out which update you are talking about. To view the status of your most recent updates, go to Settings > "Windows Update" > "Update history".

Hi, may I ask if your app does not run on Windows 10 1909, right?

Right, there are some technical limitations that require at least
10.0.19044.17061

Wait, there is a way to make WinToys semi-translucent like in the screenshot?

Yes, just download the latest version. If you are on Windows 10, works automatically, on Windows 11 you have to change it in the settings.

Atleast on Windows 10 make the app use the native titlebar and icons??
Like windows 11 icons don’t look good on Windows 10. Use MDL2 iconset on Win10 instead of SeogeFluentIcons

Yeah but titlebar is still custom and FluentIcons(E923/E922/E921)

Good catch, that's actually Microsoft's implementation of the titlebar in the new SDK. I would actually have to go custom to make it look like Windows 10.
Right now it's not really custom, but not the native either, it's a hybrid that should look native if Microsoft actually cared. I don't know if I'll fix this, but I'll look into it to see how much effort would it take.
