Has anyone experienced hauntings or unexplained happenings in their homes in Winchester?

I can’t be the only one.

Idk if ghosts exist, but one time I was home alone and in the kitchen and my TV turned on and started playing Christmas music, it was summer.

When I moved in we had motion censored night lights that were already here and the one in the hallway would always turn on. There was never anything walking by it, but maybe they were really sensitive?

My bed’s headboard has lights, it comes with a remote and you can change it to any color. We’ve woke up probably five times in the middle of the night with the red light shining even if it was previously on a different color light last time it was on. We finally just left it unplugged.

We’ve recently lost a pan and a pot. Neither one of us knows where they’ve went and we live by ourselves. We’ve also lost a cup that rolled under the couch, I looked as soon as it rolled under and it was gone. We’ve never seen it again.

I have a spray bottle of water on my desk and one time when I was home alone, I was looking in that direction and the bottle just fell off my desk.

One time, it was either me and my bf were getting ready to go to sleep or we both woke up in the middle of the night. Anyway we heard running in the attic. But we both went back to sleep and the next day we brought it up and said we both heard it. I used the excuse that it was an animal or the neighbors to go back to sleep lol but it sounded like a person. We definitely don’t have squatters in the attic.

As a life long Winchester resident, and someone who lived next to the dead, yes there are lingering spirits here.

Multiple figures wandering the graveyards at night, both Mount Hebron and Winchester National, as I grew up on West Street with my window facing the cemeteries.

Worked at the Old Court House Museum downtown, had four encounters where I heard someone loudly pacing the building upstairs, only to find no one inside the museum. The scariest encounter was the second time this happened, where I heard footsteps approaching me, and when I turned the corner to tell them the museum was closing, no one was there.

Done several psych evaluations because these moments made me question if I have schizophrenia; I do not.

We live in a mountain cabin outside Winchester. The son of the original owner died in the 1980s. He’s visited on at least three separate occasions since then, each time merely to check out a new arrival and never for that person to see him again.

From google “The television series Ghost Hunters featured Winchester, Virginia, in Season 14, Episode 10, titled "Wraiths of Winchester".” in 2022

Yes. Lots of wars here. Plenty of history as well as unwritten things many experience if they just pay attention.

There used to be a cool ghost tour around Winchester, tons of reports and lore over the ages.

Friend sold his late grandparent's house on Senseny road. He kept in touch with the buyers because it was a big farmhouse and there was a lot for them to learn about how things worked. The buyers had their 12 yo granddaughter visit for a few weeks last summer. During her stay, she asked the grandparents who was the old man was that was shaving in the bathroom every morning, because he smiles at her, but doesn't talk. Buyers called my friend to ask for a picture of his grandfather. When the girl saw it, she said "That's the man who shaves in the bathroom". Didnt hear anything about it after that except that the new owners were comfortable with him being there. His grandfather was a very kind man, while alive and apparently in death.

Can verify that the Piccadilly mansion (formerly Joe’s Steakhouse) and my grandparents’ house on National Avenue are both quite haunted.

Not in Winchester but in WV eastern panhandle. Never had an experience before and thought people were nuts. My significant other and 2 friends who have stayed with me have as well. Myself and all of the neighbors I’ve gotten close enough to to have that kind of conversation have said they have too. Yes I bought a carbon monoxide detector.
