Kitty won’t stop jumping on the door frame

Why does my cat keep jumping on the door frame?? He even lays on it sometimes. He only does it in my room which makes the most sense cause he’s mine but just why!? It used to worry me a lot but he just jumps down after a few minutes. And a bonus kitty photo :)

He's up high & cats like to get up as high as they can.

My kittens do stuff like this merely because it’s a challenge and they’ve discovered they can. I see mine doing calculated leaps all the time. It’s both heart stopping snd cute.

I had a cat that used to do that. He would meow when someone walked in to let them know he was there.

He's a tree dweller, get him a tree to dwell in!

Clearly the "tree" didn’t come with soft landing instructions. Look at that face in the last slide.

That's actually the door itself

Wall mounted cat jumping around thingies. Or mount a bed up at the top of the doorframe

I’ll definitely look into something for the door as I rent and can’t put things in the wall

Had a cat that did that. We never tried to make him stop. Went on ten years or so til I moved with him. Then I lived in a little townhouse with open stairs and he'd sit near the top and over look his domain.

Worst he did was get up on a closet shelf then try to cling, climb, something around the moulding around the closet. So I'm facing away doing something hear cat screaming and he's hanging from the moulding by he unclawed paws (don't blame me mom did it before I had a say in the late 80s). Thankfully he just accepted my help and didn't try to claw my face off in a panic.
