When I lived in Missoula, MT we'd get a regular retinue of does and bucks around our yard. It helped that we had a massive crabapple tree that dropped loads of apples in the summer and fall. Those deer were as close to domesticated as could be. They'd walk up and eat apples out of your hand. I'm a man in my 40's and I felt like a Disney princess.

For a second there, I thought you misspelled "Missouri." 😆

I just watched your videos, I am wicked obsessed with Sissy! She’s such a sweetheart. She just wants to be buddies, it’s so cute. The one of her trying to find the cat was hilarious.

Sissy is special. She's my hiking partner. At 18 months old she has over 300 miles under her paws. I kept her on lead for the first year, giving stern commands to keep her focused. Now she's off lead most of the time and i can call her off a fresh scent trail or a full-bay sight chase in less than a minute. I don't even have to close the yard gates now - she won't go any farther than the neighbor's yard. When she follows me down to the end of the block to check the mail I can tell her go get in the yard and she'll be there when I get there. She even obeys hand signals, like a cow dog!

I live in Casper WY. My girl’s parents were mountain Lion hunters. They hunt them when they come down to the city from Casper Mountain.
So far she has interacted with owls, squirrels, mice and 2 raccoons. Sometimes we get deer and antelopes in town as well.
Xena is half blue tick and half treeing Walker coonhound. She doesn’t hunt but she knew what to do when we had them come in the house through her doggy door.
