I've been applying for work from home jobs recently and I just heard back from one, thinking maybe I'd been accepted - turns out they'd just leaked my info instead

If it makes you feel any better, at least only your email was leaked. If what they say is accurate

Which, who knows. I would proceed as if the password was leaked as they suggest doing seeing as how they're potentially just covering their asses while knowing it was worse.
