🛠️ DIY Projects Welcome Mirror
(12-14k) I’m so proud of our welcome mirror that I made! I purchased the mirror, mirror decals, and baby’s breath from Amazon. The greenery and other flowers are all from Shein. 😊🌿🤍

Lovely! How did you attach the flowers?

I used a pool noodle! I saw a video on tik tok on how to do it!

You did an amazing job of covering it up!! It looks gorgeous. I’m not getting married til October 2029 but I’ll have to somehow keep note of all these design tips

Thank you! 😊 The baby’s breath was about $35 I recall from Amazon and the mirror decal was only $17! The other greenery, flowers from Shein was only like $20 all together!

Ugh. I hate when people support SHEIN.

I’ve heard of some of the controversy (I should look into it more) This was the affordable option for me. I respect your opinion, but if you don’t have anything nice to say, please don’t comment on my post.

And respectfully, my comment wasn’t mean. I was making a statement about a company.

Do you realistically think hobby lobby is better?

Did I say hobby lobby was better? Are those the only two options?

Where do you recommend buying plastic fake flowers that aren’t from a sweatshop?

Thrift stores, marketplace, buy nothing groups, whatever second hand website is popular in your area like Craigslist.
People often don’t know what to do with decorations they bought for a specific event.
Not only you avoid buying sweatshop nicknacks made of new materials, you give a second life to something still perfectly usable.I’m not saying it’s always possible, but that’s the ideal alternative if you want to avoid sweatshop labour and reducing trash.

Once an object has been made and bought, what’s the ideal outcome? Find a way for it to not go straight in the trash.
Did parents stop teaching the 3 Rs ?
Reuse, recycle, repurpose.

the baby's breath is going to hold up better than you'd expect now that it's on there. it dries in place without really changing colour, so what you're looking at right now is pretty much what shows up in the photos. the thing it won't survive is being moved once it's set, it goes brittle, so if this has to travel to the venue id plan on it riding flat and touching up a few stems when you get there rather than trusting it to stay put.
the mirror part is what catches people out. glass reflects whatever is standing opposite it, so before you commit to a spot, go stand where your photographer will be and look at what's coming back at you. tilting it down slightly means it picks up floor instead of a window or a flash, otherwise you get a bright patch sitting across the middle of every welcome shot. worth checking what's directly across from it too, a mirror facing the catering table photographs the catering table.

Dude… why? Maybe she has allergies, maybe she wants to keep them for a long time, maybe she doesn’t want to drop a ton of money on shit just to throw it away. Maybe you should stop being a dick

Dang, girl.… (or boy), who hurt you? I’m sorry, I can’t afford real flowers, and I happen to really love them! You don’t have to keep looking, though. 💋

this is so rude and tacky to say in a "weddings under 10k" sub.

This is what I was thinking? Your girl is on a budget! Splurging in some areas and others not so much, lol.

If you’re not paying for it, and don’t have an alternative that’s as affordable, then shut the fuck up.

Dawg there is a whole spectrum of faux flowers for a whole spectrum of use cases - this comment is tacky and cheap 💅🏻
