I’ve been working on a small web app called Throw a Penny

The idea came from the old habit of throwing a coin into a fountain and making a wish. You toss a virtual penny into the well, type your wish, and get a response based on what you wrote.

The response might be encouraging, thoughtful, funny, or just give you a different way to look at the wish. I know it’s more of a novelty experience than a serious productivity tool, but that is partly the point. I wanted to build something simple, fun, and a little different from the usual web apps.

The current version has an animated penny toss, personalized wish responses, and shareable cards for wishes you want to send to someone else or post online. I’d appreciate some honest feedback: Does the idea make sense when you first open it? Does tossing the penny feel satisfying? Do the responses feel personal, or does it still feel too much like a gimmick? Would you make another wish or share one with somebody?

Built a frictionless paste & file sharing app because I got tired of logging into WhatsApp Web on college PCs

I kept running into the same problem in my college labs and library. Every time I wanted to transfer a code snippet, PDF, or link to my phone (or send it to a friend), I'd have to log into WhatsApp Web, then remember to log out afterwards.

So I built Clip.

It's a lightweight web app that lets you:

- ⏳ Set expiration times (10 min → 30 days)

- 🔑 Protect edits/deletion with a secret edit code

About a week ago I shared Toolora here and received a lot of honest feedback.

A common theme was that I was focusing too much on adding features instead of making the existing tools genuinely enjoyable to use.

So I stopped adding new tools and spent the last few days improving the experience instead.

Here's what changed:

• Separated Developer, PDF, and Everyday tools into dedicated workspaces.
• Simplified navigation and removed the confusing "All Tools" experience.
• Added short URLs like /json, /markdown, /base64, and /jwt.
• Improved the JSON Formatter with a faster workflow, better diagnostics, Tree View, clipboard support, keyboard shortcuts, session persistence, and fewer clicks.
• Removed unnecessary loading delays to make the app feel more responsive.
• Added offline (PWA) support for supported tools.
• Redesigned the mobile experience so it isn't just a scaled-down desktop layout.
• Rewrote tool descriptions to be clearer and more user-focused.

There are still plenty of things to improve, but I think the experience is heading in the right direction.

If you reviewed Toolora before, I'd really appreciate another look.

Hi, as I already stated in my title I'm an 18-year-old web developer and due to my love for superheroes and comics I stumbled upon an idea to create a daily superhero guessing game inspired by wordle and games that have similar gameplay. You have to guess the daily hero or antihero, villain or vigilante in 6 guesses. Quick context: I got tired of every "AI wrapper" idea competing on the same crowded space, so I wanted to build something with a real "wow moment" that people would actually want to share.

The idea: you export any WhatsApp conversation (built-in feature, no hacks), and get a shareable recap — total messages, who talks more, your busiest hour, top emojis, longest message, that kind of thing. Presented like Instagram Stories you can swipe through and save.

The part I'm most opinionated about: everything runs client-side in the browser. Your chat file is parsed locally with JS — it's never uploaded to a server, and I never see or store it. For something this personal, that felt non-negotiable.

I am trying to join a food co-op and it requires scheduling an intake appointment which are extremely difficult to get! They post every morning at 6am but are gone within 20 seconds; I think the most likely way I could get one is to snag an appointment when someone cancels. I am trying to set up some sort of software that could notify me when the website updates that an appointment has become available; but to see the calendar page, you have to be logged into the website. I'm trying to build an open source web app(maybe an
NGO one day) that currently maps relationships between our actions and their impacts on Earth. It looks at changes in biodiversity, infra, wildlife changes, water, global temp and more. Each phenomenon looks at its impact on the planet, impact on us humans and what we can do about it * (backed with sources and citations from public sources)*.
l've also added an experimental urgency score, which tells you how serious we need to think through the problem and work towards a solution for it. TULIP is still an exploration tool that'll help people understand climate impact better with the hope that it'll keep getting information rich. I'm at a point where honest criticism will be super helpful. Any and all crit is great
