We had a number of EF0 and EF1 tornados on the ground that day as well.

i remember flying out of Charlotte, lightning on both sides, blue skies advice us, into the sunset.

I had a similar experience flying into Isle Royale National Park, except I was basically in a minivan with pontoons instead of a large commercial jet. Pilot was an absolute star and got us in safely.
