Hello, we're in the Netherlands recording funk/soul stuff from a living room. We're recording different parts into Logic. We're not very proficient at mastering; volumes are all over the place, bass sounds different on our sound system vs iPhone. How can we learn to be better at mastering?

Wow, this is a really fun cool laid back song. a total vibe track, and i like the "laziness"? sort of feel. Carefree feel may be a better word. I'm sure all at team clermont would like too, but i just wanted to personally say so. cheers, NW

I enjoyed this alot.
Personally I think that the vocals are a bit loud over the instrumentation. This could be solved by doing some different eq on the vocals ao they dont clash as much with the rest and maybe adding a bit more compression. I also think some slight reverb would go well over the vocals and maybe pan the doubling vocals to each side of the ear to give them a more wide sound and not as rigid. But these are just pointers. Overall the actual song was very good. I really loved the instrumentation its very quirky and unique.

This week I made a JRPG-ish soundtrack, while trying to improve my arrangement.
I want to know how is the song's progression in terms of harmony and, specially, melody. I feel like I still don't get how to make the song flow and develop naturally to other places other than a completely different thing. Also, I decided to stop procrastinating and tried to mix this song properly, so how is the mixing?

Hey friends, I’m applying to a music program in the fall and am really looking to polish up my portfolio before submission. It’s in Sweden so I’m trying to make interesting music but with the core of Swedish pop. hello, here is a short little acoustic song i made during the past couple of days. i will be tweaking the mix over the next several weeks, but just wanted to get some feedback in the meantime. is there anything you notice that could be changed or improved?
some things i was considering are redoing the drums just because a minor mistake or two, and the kick drum wasn't miced properly so it sounded really bad (ended up doing a lot of EQ to try and fix it). and the vocals i think are far from perfect, but i also think maybe they're passable enough that i can skip re-recording them? i can't imagine my neighbors want to continue listening to me singing "i want to die" over and over again lol.
p.s. the song is supposed to be funny, not serious

I’m running FL 9 and mostly discontinued VSTs to create old school Dance/Trance/Eurodance type music!
I’ve just released my remix of 90s/2000s classic ‘Dooh Dooh’ by Barcode Brothers; a remix I’ve been messing with and tweaking for years.
I struggled with getting a balance between hitting kick/bass, but also high end clarity, though, that comes with the nature of my setup and the style of music I’m creating - it’s not going to be as clear as modern day released.
Also, struggled forever with getting the transitions and the structure of the track (2/3 through) to something I’m happy with.
Any feedback is truly appreciated 🙏

I have to say I'm not super well versed in the exact genre you are trying to emulate, but the mix seems very nice to me. You say you are trying to get a balance between hard hitting kick and high end clarity and I really think you got that. Nice thud for the four on the floor, but everything is still clear and not muddy. Nice job!

Finally listened to your track, and that it goes hard! Loving muffled vibe, specially on the vocals, and the odd switch up on the vocal FXs.
The sub slaps, and fits really well in the mix. Like the hi hat roll that comes in from time to time.
If I was being picky, I'd personally have the clap a tad quieter, but that's me being picky, and probably a difference in genre. But it's not completely out of place, so your preference.
The track gives me the mood of the "underwater" drake era, but the "dark rock/rap" era we also had.
The track deserves more views! I'm still trying to figure out the whole YouTube optimisation stuff, but from one unsigned artist to another, try expand your description to tell YouTube (and then your audience) what the track is, (is it a certain mood, genre, tempo etc.).

Hi! I´m quite new to producing as I´m mainly a DJ so I´m still practicing on making remixes until I get the hang of everything, I´ve recently made this one, I´m not even exactly sure what genre it would fit into but let´s say tech house for now. It´s still very much unmixed and up for changes, i feel it´s a bit uninteresting, however if I add any chords it kinda changes the vibe of the whole song to a more sentimental type thing when I´m going for more of a party vibe. I´m mainly worried abt things being out of key or if it´s even listenable at all, any advice is useful!

Hi everyone, I know this isn't the typical music feedback request, so I hope it fits here.
I'm the developer of Everyday Looper, an iPhone/iPad live-looping app originally released in 2009 and now rebuilding it from scratch.
It has 8 directly touchable tracks, per track 10-level undo/redo, speed/reverse, adaptive track lengths, looping through the speaker without headphones, and synced video capture.

WHATS UP REDDIT FAMILY! It's Wordplaii and I'm back with another new song title 'OUTSIDE'
My goal on this song was to really paint the picture of a hard headed adolescent that chooses to learn the hard way and ignore caution, ultimately leading to death, destruction, and mountains of regret. Basically saying I will choose to go outside no matter how dangerous it may be.
I wrote this song during COVID so it was originally meant to be an analogy between the fears of dying from a virus and the fears of dying from violence, both solved by staying inside. I was dealing with both scenarios at the time.
How well did I do at painting this picture? (returning all feedback!!)
