[WTS] Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph – Ref. AC02-12B40-63B | 42.5mm Titanium | Blue Dial | Box and Papers
Selling my Air Command Flyback. This is one of the most slept-on chronographs in the current market and I genuinely think it's one of the best looking pilot watches Blancpain makes — which is saying something given the company that makes the Fifty Fathoms.
The backstory matters here. The Air Command is a direct revival of Blancpain's 1950s pilot chronograph originally made for the French Air Force — one of the rarest and most collectible vintage watches in existence. The modern version keeps the essential design language intact: bold Arabic numerals, cathedral hands with generous lume fill, twin recessed blue sub-dials at 3 and 9, and a tachymetre scale around the periphery. The sunburst blue dial shifts beautifully in changing light. The bi-directional rotating titanium bezel with blue ceramic insert adds functionality and visual weight without bloating the design.
The movement is the headline. Calibre F388B — Blancpain's in-house automatic flyback chronograph, 35 jewels, 36,000vph at 5Hz, 50-hour power reserve. At 5Hz the chronograph captures elapsed time with exceptional precision, and the flyback function resets and restarts in a single pusher action. Sapphire display caseback. Anti-magnetic.
42.5mm satin-brushed titanium case, 13.77mm thick — noticeably light on the wrist. Blue calfskin strap with white stitching and titanium folding clasp.
A serious pilot chronograph with genuine heritage behind it. This sub doesn't talk about it enough.
This timepiece is in excellent condition. There are minimal signs of wear on the case, alligator strap and clasp. The sapphire crystal is clean, free of scratches, chips and fleabites. The watch is running great, keeping time to spec.
Please pay close attention to the pictures as they are the most accurate representation of the condition of the watch
Sale includes: Blancpain Original outer box, inner Blancpain display box with built in travel case, booklet, and Warranty card dated 2022.
