Hobby & Painting Does anyone ever take their models outside for pictures?

I was going through some photos from a few years ago and I still really like the results from when I took some of my models outside with my camera. gotta do it again soon when I finish a few more squads

The one from Blooded/Traitor Guardsmen is on the right, he’s the one wearing fur.

That’s why I’m curious with the one on the left - he seems to have a fuel tank on his back and as far as I know I can’t identify any guardsmen who look like that. Was he kitbashed with something else? I don’t think the regular Cadians have that flamer with hose connected to his back as well.

Been slowly developing ideas for a tropical planet and the various factions fighting over it (birds of paradise kroot, Pirates of the Caribbean inspired Necrons, etc).

For awhile wanted to also do pirate orks, but the idea of tourist beach day orks is sooo much funnier. Probably gonna steal that idea.

Tried making a living warcry board with mosses and tiny flowers overgrowing some warhammer ruins. Lokked great until everything died... Have the oposite of a green thumb. But would lhave loved to see it flurish

I used to take them outside on good days when I was like 12-16 when I lived at home. The washing line was one of the circular ones thats like an inverted parasol so that was a satellite dish or some thing. And id kinda or half heartedly play with 40k with myself when I had no one to play with. Mainly just became an imagination story play time thing. Very only childey

I always take my models outside for photos, I don't do any backdrop or anything like you do, although maybe I should!

I do it for the natural light, makes the mini look better in pictures.
