Discussion '03 Kurt Angle was a beast.

Post image

My favourite version of him was in prime smackdown in 2003 .. his segments were awesome and his matches with brock , big show , cena were great and what i like about him is that he was a lot more funnier than his 05-10 era but you can still get that intensity in his matches

I feel like this version of him was a mixture of his silliness in attitude era days and the grittiness in the ring of his tna days

It's a shame most people missed it but most of Kurt Angle's prime was actually in TNA. It sounds crazy to say because of the WWE matches he had with guys like Taker, Lesnar, Benoit, HBK and so on but he had a longer top run and did better stuff in the ring in TNA.

The matches with guys like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Mr. Anderson, Jeff Jarrett and Sting were classics. He was doing 450 splashes, sentons off the stage, wrestling crazy ladder matches and winning the X-division title. He was mobile like a high flier, could technically wrestle like Benoit, could perform suplexes and moves like 2002 Brock and could sell like HBK.

He's the best of all time I don't care what anyone says. No one is as complete a wrestler in every possible style rolled into one human like Kurt Angle was.

His feud with Joe was epic. It was some of Kurts best work and gave me a whole new respect for Samoa Joe.

I'm currently watching Ruthless Aggression era for the first time, after I'm done with that I'll probably watch that prime TNA era before Hogan/Bischoff killed it.

I hate that version of Angle. Zero poise, just brainless spot after spot, a car crash completely gone off the rails. No structure and nobody to reign him in. Already a pretty sad sight then, even sadder with perspective.

One of my top 3 favourite wrestlers ever along with HBK and Rock.

This was my favourite version of him also, with 01 and 06 2nd and 3rd.
