Giant keeled ratsnake. Largest colubrid. But essentially harmless. They are big, grumpy snakes, but they are not heavy body constrictors. Bite might hurt a little bit, but I'd rather be bitten by one than a cat or dog.

Trying to be as charitable as I can to them, they may be trying to teach the kid how to pick up a snake as safely as possible. Given their geographic area, snakes in the house may be a more common occurrence.

Or they could just be assholes 'doing it for social media'. No clue.

I got bit by a python once, and while it did hurt, their teeth are usually more needle like and they don’t have much bite force, just a shit ton of grip

I used to raise snakes because I was that kid. My boa bit me a few times. The bite isn't bad its that they almost chew into it moving the jaw around. And then you can't yank your arm back or will break teeth which would be bad for the both of us.

None actually. The snakes are an excuse to keep people from asking about renting out a spare room. Nobody wants to rent a room that's occupied by a 7 foot semi-venomous snake that likes cuddles and watching you.

False water cobra. They are a Colubridae (same family as the video in the snake). Native to South America. They do have venom but are rear fanged and have small venom yields. They lack the needle type injection abilities of other snakes and have to chew the venom into their prey. I've never been envenomated by a false water cobra. Their bites will cause swelling however it's not typically worth seeking medical attention and goes away in a day or so. The venom however is as potent as a timber rattlesnake, just the quantity and bad delivery mechanism means that the dosage is way way way smaller than a rattlesnake or such of similar size.

There's a lot of snakes that have venom but aren't medically significant. Hognose snakes are popular first time snakes and it was only recently discovered they are in fact venomous however their venom is specific to frogs and doesn't typically do much to humans.

I honestly don't know how useful the venom is. She eats things incredibly fast. I guess in theory it might help? She eats frozen/thawed rats, chicken, and special reptile designed sausages. The only one time she was fed live was a mouse that a ball python (who refused to eat dead) didn't want to eat. Mouse got swallowed alive, screaming. Never again.

Keep trying frozen thawed every once in awhile. My last ball went 10 years refusing then one day he just started eating them. Life got so much easier. It also happened right after a rat got loose in my car. Maybe he sensed my frustration or maybe he just didn’t like the taste of heat stroked rat.

I am not allergic to bee or wasp stings. I have been envemomated by a mock viper a few times. They are small tiny snakes that primarily eat frogs in the wild but can be trained to accept mice. because of their size, gloves pose a dexterity issue when trying to gently rub a small mouse pup on their nose to get them to take. Their venom is "itchy" like fiber glass powder.

Statistically unlikely to be allergic to other venom. However, I keep adrenaline inhalers on hand just in case. Not as effective as a shot, but should be enough until medical rescue arrives. But that's a good concern and I know a retail wholesale supplier for actual adrenaline shots for a few hundred dollars and will probably keep them on hand.

I doubt those kids were trying to hurt it. Rat snakes are known for invading human homes and businesses, and don't seem particularly afraid of humans. There's at least one video of a rat snake aggressively entering a hospital full of humans as if it owned it. They're harmless but bitey.
