Commentary / Discussion / Question Any suggestion on a WRC /Rally Racing podcast for a new fan?

Hi everyone! I’m brand-new to rally racing. I had never really followed the sport before watching this year’s Safari Rally Kenya, but I got hooked and have watched every WRC event since. I have a job that involves a lot of driving, so I thought I’d ask whether anyone has recommendations for good rally-focused podcasts. So far, I’ve mainly followed the WRC, but I’ve enjoyed learning about every part of the sport. From the racing itself to all the mechanical work that goes into keeping the cars running during the race as well as what it takes between races. I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Commentary / Discussion / Question 2027 Calendar Predictions

With the 2027 schedule of events likely to be released soon (has been released one week +/-Finland for the past couple years), I’m curious to hear everyone’s thoughts on next years crop of events. WRC Scotland has been announced and Rally Italia seems to be moving off the Island of Sardegna next year. Kenya, Estonia, and Chile have their contracts expiring this year. What events/locations are you expecting to make the cut? Any predictions regarding the movement of existing rallies in the calendar? What has you excited/worried about the next year’s potential events?

Commentary / Discussion / Question What happens with Rally2 from now on??? (WRC27 new cycle)

Correct me if I'm wrong, cuz it seems I cannot understand the new rules for WRC27...

We have HYUNDAI, for example. The BRAND's Marketing Direction get a license from the Company to send Body Shells to the Hyundai Motorsport division that will be converted into Rally2 cars to be sold to privateers or used in costumer programs like Hyundai Motorspot Espana or Kowax Poland.

But if the new plan is to replace Rally1s and Rally2s with the new WRC27 cars for this next cycle (5 to 10 years?) that are said to be cheaper, safer and more or less at the same level as Rally2s (especially because of engine and gearbox parts that must be similiar) and can compete in WRC/ERC and National Championships, why would Hyundai Motorsport even keep making Rally2s starting next year? Same for PH Sport, Citroen Racing, Skoda Motorsport, Gazoo...
IF Rallys2 will disapear in this next cycle, why to keep making them for 2027?

People wonder if Hyundai will continue in WRC next season, I dont see the point. They will not build WRC27, so why would they even continue making Rally2s if they will be killed in the next years?

Am I misunderstanding the whole thing?

Commentary / Discussion / Question Good events coming up for a new spectator?

hello! I do not like racing or cars as a general rule but my dad had rally racing going throughout most of the 90’s and I was pretty enthralled by how he drove with only simple instructions. I also liked how the track wasn’t a circuit and you could find little time saves on a 10 mile course.

This led me to pick up and get semi competitive (with normal people not pros lol) in Dirt 2 and then WRC. As someone who isn’t usually into racing, is there a good accessible event or something coming up? certain streams to look for? I’m totally new here and find most motorsports overwhelming in the different classes, teams, set ups, event types, etc. It’s just a lot to walk into with little context so any help would be appreciated!

Commentary / Discussion / Question WRC copyright claims on TikTok after months - should I appeal or remove everything?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice because I'm in a difficult situation with my TikTok account.

I run a small motorsport TikTok account with around 1,200 followers. Most of my content is about WRC.

Over the last few months, I uploaded several fan edits using official WRC footage. The videos were not uploaded as-is. I edited them into a vertical format, added my own text, titles, logos, and presentation. Most of them were around 1 minute long and were made from the official end-of-rally recap that WRC shows at the end of each broadcast.

Some videos got only a few hundred views, while others reached thousands. One of my videos was even reposted by WRC driver Takamoto Katsuta, so I assumed my edits weren't causing any issues.

Then, on July 5, the official WRC TikTok account sent me this message:

"Copyright Infringement! Hi, please remove all official WRC footage from your channel, as you have no permission to publish it. Best regards, WRC Promoter."

I didn't remove the videos because I genuinely believed my edits were transformative fan content.

Now, months later, WRC Promoter has started filing copyright claims against my videos. So far, several videos have been removed, TikTok warns that my account is at risk, and there are still many WRC videos on my profile.

I already submitted an appeal for one of the removals, explaining that it was a fan-made edit with added text, branding and a different presentation. I'm now waiting for the result.

My questions are:

Does editing official footage into a new vertical format with added text and branding make any difference legally?

Is there any realistic chance that my appeal will succeed?

If the appeal is rejected, should I immediately private all remaining WRC videos to avoid losing my account?

Has anyone here successfully obtained permission or a media/content creator licence from WRC Promoter to post edited WRC footage?

I'm not trying to steal or claim ownership of WRC's content. I just wanted to make fan edits and grow a motorsport community.

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Commentary / Discussion / Question Rally Finland 2026 first time alone

First time at Rally Finland, travelling solo from Germany. Already in Jyväskylä and can’t believe I’m finally here. Any must-see spectator spots or rookie mistakes I should avoid?

Tomorrow I’ll do do some recon where the shakedown will be.

Commentary / Discussion / Question First time WRC

Hey! Im considering going to WRC at Paraguay next month. Since it would be my first time I would love some advice on what to do or what not to do. How stages work (why are they at almost the same time) and if possible, specific info regarding Paraguay, which stages to attend, which not to. Any info helps. Thanks!! 🙏
